Albert Paley's Odyssey is a outdoor sculpture Council Bluffs located in United States.
I-29 & S 24th St (I-29 Exit 50) Council Bluffs , IA 51501 United States
This art is soo ugly, it looks like Edward Scissorhands , except even Johnny Depp had a better looking set. Who in the world thought this was a good idea lol...
Yet to find a resident who likes it. Why they couldn't commission a local artist to do it and keep the money local, no one knows.
The installation, Odyssey, by Paley consists of four mixed metal statues . Stainless, weathering, bronze plated steal sculptures at each point creating an experience drivers will not forget. No WTC!
The name is way less cool now. Don't even want to keep mayorship. Now the question... To continue to point whore this place or stop checking in here................
I grew up in Council Bluffs, left to join the army before this monster was built. I got wounded in combat, spent months in the hospital and how am I greeted when I come home? Big ugly Communist art !
All the metal used to make the weird bridge art is from September 11, just thought everyone should know that...
The sculptures tower up to 100 feet above the interstate, establishing a true sense of place. Read more
it really isnt that ugly. i think that there is probably something else that might look cooler there. im happy we have something that is cool even if you dont get it.
Great view n design
Many of the locals call that bridge the Edward Scissorhands bridge
Cool to get impaled on during a tornado
I could have made a better sculpture drunk and with both eyes closed
Change the name... Or not. I will always affectionately remember it as "Ugly-Ass Art "
Horrors! Abandon Hope All Ye Who Enter Here.
While looking at these sculptures , i felt the need to pinch myself in order to make sure I wasn't in Freddy Krueger bad dream land...
I just discovered this on Google Maps lol
The city found a way to hide everyones yard junk in plain sight
Beautiful!
Try climbing them!
The metal was paid by the casinos to an artist named Albert Paley from New York but the metal is NOT.
If the movie Saw were a bridge , it would look just like this one.
I actually like them
I think the State could have spent that money on something better than this so callef "ART "
Waiting for one of these sculptures to transform into an autobot...>.>
What an abuse of taxpayer money !.!
Pride of CB - Looks like tornado wreckage.
A good waste of a few million dollars.
Is NOT from 9-11!
Don't get in a car accident while looking at the Edward Scissor Bridge .
Pretty sure its metal from 9/11.....soooo maybe shouldn't be called ugly ass art ..
