Betsy Ross House

Betsy Ross, credited with sewing the first American flag , is believed to have worked and resided in this house, built around 1740, from 1773 to 1885.

The trees against the wall, behind Betsy 's grave, are Magnolias. Very tall, yes, but still very true.

The feisty patriot who lived here was always a rebel. Eloping with an Episcopal got her kicked out of the Quakers. Vietnam Veterans Against the War took over her house in 1971 for a 45-minute protest. Read more

Was small but nice recreation of her house no photography cute little gift shop . Go at the right time and u can watch the reenactment of her sewing the flag.

There is no proof she actually made the American Flag. Also, this is not her real house... her house was where the pavement is next to the house.
