the tour is incredible. it runs every half hour, but make sure you get your ticket in advance as it sells out.

Our tour guide was fantastic - Jordan. He sang, danced , joked with the crowd. So fun. This museum is incredible, full of history and amazing stories. Highly recommend visiting if you're in Detroit.

Jeff S.

It's a magical place where legendary artists have recorded so many hit songs. What a thrill it was to sing a few bars of My Girl in the legendary Studio A.Our tour guide was really knowledgeable & fun

Jose Medina

This was one of the best tours I have ever taken. Our tour guide provided such detailed information and a engaging experience. I highly recommend visiting.

One Single Rose

The Motown Museum is a historical place for every visitor and Detroiter to walk through at least once in your lifetime. Here I am with The Floacist before performing in the Flovortex February 2016.

Ming Koslowsky

It's the best $10 we ever spent! Our tour guide, Peggy, was the best. Being (and singing "My Girl") in Studio A, where all early Motown artists recorded their music , was an awesome experience.

Jessica S

Ask for Eric! The passion this man has for his job is mind blowing! He makes it a point to get to know his groups and ensures you get the most from your visit. He is what 212* service is all about!

Amy Lebowsky

FINALLY MADE IT HERE and my only disappointment was that the tour isn't longer. Killer tour guides know their Motown . ????????

James Witman

This museum displays a fantastic collection of artifacts from Motown musicians . A guide will lead you through the museum , with the tour ending in Studio A where the early Motown hits were recorded .

HISTORY

Founded in 1985, the museum preserves the legacy of the Motown Record Corp. The exhibits include collections of historical photographs , artwork, music , costumes & other memorabilia from the era.

Sarah Nixon

Absolutely incredible and very affordable . One of my favorite parts of my visit to Detroit

Jake Smith

After checking out the museum , hit up the gift shop and check out the multiple Motown compilation albums they are selling. Get a few for the drive to your next destination.

Ronald Clayton Small

Nice piece of history. However, should you want a tour , show up very early or you may not get in. A small venue and limited staff . You can't make reservations or get tickets on-line.

Mars

We weren't supposed to park at the church next door but fuck them we did it anyways. Cool spot to visit. I am the David Ruffin of horrorcore. R-E-S-P-E-C-T. Sock it to me.

Kevin Smith

The tour is $15 and lasts an hour. Lots of vintage equipment, furniture and records

Maureen Kavanaugh

If you are traveling from out of state with a child with autism/mr, skip this place. $10 a head for a guided tour and you MUST walk through with a tour guide.

Damon Sunde

Museum parking is only on the street. No cameras , cell phones or recording devices allowed in the museum .

BareBones Detroit

Go here at least once. Especially if you call yourself a Detroit native. Even if you don't pay the tour admission, it's worth seeing and at least posing for a picture out front. Trust us. Read more

If you're a dance-dance-dancing machine, then you don't want to miss the place that pays homage to the musical home of the Jackson 5 and other musical legends.

Must make reservations ahead. The tour takes a hour.

DjDetroit Diezel

Call ahead of time they're not smart enough to staff enough people for enough tours so even though the hours are posted there already sold out on their yours @4pm they close @ 6pm ????

Great Tourist Attractions ;)

Originally founded by Berry Gordy, Jr., "Hitsville" became one of the first black-owned record labels. Its pop/R&B "Motown Sound " helped to integrate the American music scene.

Bill Durdach

If you've ever liked Motown , this place is a shrine . The music will mean so much more to you after the tour ... Needless to say, history has never been this fun!

Shannon

can't just walk through yourself, have to wait for tours which start whenever they feel like starting them. You wait in cramped hallway w/ no air w/ a billion other people. BUT absolutely worth it.
