Special exhibits are excellent, diverse and change regularly. Go more than once! They make a much appreciated effort to involve, display and encourage young artists , their community and schools.
You don't get to say this very often at an art museum , but the guest/customer service here is excellent. As I'm sure has already been mentioned, the architecture alone is worth a peek inside.
The Martin ArtQuest gallery is great for kids! We came on a Sunday afternoon and were able to spend several hours of fun here. Kids and adults enjoyed making their own art !
The Main Library features marble floors, sky-high ceilings and special collections and art throughout all of the rooms. Take the kids for story time and have lunch in the serene courtyard . Read more

The staff is very helpful and the building is completely done in the Art Deco style. If you can, you should make it here before the Art Deco car exhibit ends; it's very cool.
The exhibition about Italian fashion was impressive!!!! Also this is a beautiful building, I am happy I checked it during my stay in Nashville.

Really enjoyed the Sensuous Steel exhibit . Employees are friendly very knowledgeable . Disappointed website says no cameras to then find out it was okay w/out flash for exhibit we were there to see.

Traveling exhibits . They have a kids area that would be good if you have some younger artsy kids. Exhibits that were in Aug. 15 were well done.

Art is always wonderful here. The gift shop prices are always too high here, and the old man that walks around making sure nothing is harmed...is a dick!
