Simply, one of the best breakfast places in Mexico City . They have some of the best Mexican food dishes in town . The enchiladas with carnitas Quiroga style are amazing. Try the nata and rolls.
The ultimate traditional Mexico City breakfast ! You absolutely must try the freshly-made conchas with milk curd , and the hot chocolate . Everything else in the menu is stellar, so go wild and enjoy!
Go for lunch and get the mole negro—chicken leg topped with a rich, thick dark mole sauce that's smokey, sweet, and slightly spicy . Make tacos out of it with the accompanying tortillas .
Breakfast . order the nata (clotted cream created from boiling raw milk ) + concha (pastry ) + chilaquiles , enchiladas , poached eggs in clay pots , and a whole range of omelets .
Started off with concha and it was so warm and fluffy and just a tad sweet, it was really yummy! They also gave sourdough bread , and the Mexican chocolate was very rich. Would definitely recommend!
Best Mexican food you can pay. Excellent service . Crowds on weekends. Reserve or send one of the party to Cue. Fish&cactus soup . Escamoles & breakfast NATA y concha .
Classic Mexican restaurant , a must, three floors, always busy. Try Mexican hot chocolate , chilaquiles and the squash blossom omelette 👌🏻
Go here for breakfast ! I had an amazing omelette & tamale . Hot chocolate looked deadly in the best possible way. Great juices and pastries as well . Well worth the wait.
Consistently the Mexican restaurant in DF. You will find every great Mexican dish for breakfast or lunch . This is also a safe place to indulge in Mexican insect specialties. –Adam Calderon
If you go to one place in Mexico City , it should be El Cardenal. The breakfasts are legendary, especially the the hot chocolate and the"panes dulces" that put every other Mexican sweet bread to shame.
prefer lunch over breakfast . the chicken leg with mole negro is cooked to perfection - the meat falls off the bone and the mole has a good kick to it
Great service. Food is average but they have great location and a "provincial" feeling of Mexico. Try the Chocolate and a piece of sweet bread .
This is my second time at El Cardenal. Really love their hot chocolate and concha ! Also arrachela is very nice!
The molcajete great and the bread amazing. Also the pan de elote
Best traditional Mexican food always fresh ingredients great service great ambience and worth the price looking the chance every time my family is in town
Recommend: escamoles(must), shrimp tacos , and chicken thigh with mole(although personally I think they put too much sauce on top)
Chilaquiles and any bread they give you. Incredible service. Worth the wait.
A must for breakfast in Mexico City . Start with a concha (best ever), and then get the chilaquiles verdes.
The best service. Came here to eat breakfast . Try hot chocolate and omelette !
Wi-Fi: 0987654321 very nice Mexican restaurant !
Amazing breakfast place, definitely start with a pastry and a hot chocolate . Then go for the chilaquiles .
Long waits to sit, good chicken . While I recognize this place has the hype, I'm not sure that the mole was much different from any other mole I've had.
Spicy salsa ! Since you arrive you are greeted with a hot cup of cocoa and sweet bread . We ordered "gorditas " "huevos ahogados" and "huevo con cecina".
Great place for traditional Mexican food . A must visit.
The food and the service is always awesome. A must when you visit Mexico's City historic center.
Had breakfast there and everything was delicious!
Get the shrimp tacos . And make sure you get some hot rolls, not just the tortillas .
many great breakfast options , absolutely worth trying the hot chocolate
Diego's recommendation. Near Zocalo (can do after some sightseeing). Slightly fancier meal.
Barbacoa was unreal! They get it from Pachuca, Hidalgo. It’s smoky, sweet and special.
Food and service are awesome
Seems super fancy but the prices are still very reasonable
Try the vegeterian Zucchini blossom quesadillas and the lamb tacos .
Hot chocolate , coffee , fresh orange juice , pastries .. let me just say everything..
As you dig into your chilaquiles , escamoles , or veal breast, consider when was the last time your breakfast involved white table clothes and suited waiters . Read more
-.The best brunch on the area, quite fancy and fast service .
Pastry in the beginning was very nice. Chocolate drink a little to watery for my liking. Great service.
Great spot for breakfast , traditional/ hot chocolate / has a few branches
Enjoy the appetizers and the main courses with great service
The quesadillas were super tasty!
-.The hot coco is the bomb and the brunch is perfect.
The hot chocolate and the bread ! The main plates we got were okay.
old, beautiful building close to Zocalo - either 9am for break or 1pm for lunch . no resys.
awesome Mexican dishes over brekkie and lunch !
Traditional Mexican Food / with some surprises. It's a classic having breakfast here.
Something different? Try "escamoles " a delicious typical dish. With Tortilla and green salsa .
When the wait’s too long, walk down the block to Cafe de Tacuba.
Fantastic food and service, great views over the Zocolo
Amazing food. Very friendly staff .
Order omelette with flor de calabaza and a Jugo verde and see god:)
Love their food and options. One of my favorites in the tortilla soap. It’s served in a pottery shaped (Talavera) Catrina. - Liz de la Cruz
Enchilada Tacuba, Botanas Sampler and the Mexican assorted deserts. If you like strong beer try the Lagrimas Negras hand made beer. - Francis Alvarez
Great place for good, although expensive, Mexican food. One of the best places to have a business lunch with foreigners. Lunch is always full, dinner is not. - Y S
So much to see, it’s worth a full day of exploring (museums, taco spots, old buildings and shops) - Gregory Fisher
Really beautiful. An experience you can't miss. - Barbara Melin
Look at the church. On the left side, there is a little fair. Go there. Amazing and good price craft art. - Fernanda Obregon
