The earlier you go, the less crowded it will be. If you get tired of following the crowd, try walking on the Capitol lawn instead.
Best farmers market I've ever seen. 4-6 city blocks of farmers selling product. Unlike our local "farmers " market , which is mostly people peddling crap.
The is part farmers market part entertainment part meeting place. The other farmer's markets in town are cheaper, but they are just markets , this an event !

A must-try or buy is Brunkow Cheese (typically on either Main or Pinckney, with a red and white striped tent) - their sizzling cheese and squeaky curds top all other cheese vendors.
Get there before 8 for the best produce selection and to beat the crowd. Walk counterclockwise.
Arrive early if you can - many chefs from local restaurants load their wagons up with fresh produce in the early hours of the morning. They're fun to talk to!

The Dane County Farmers' Market moves into the senior center in January and dishes out a very tasty breakfast made with local ingredients . Also, there's live music .
Veggies and cheese and meat gallore
Public restrooms are available in the Veterans Museum on Mifflin and Carrol. Free admission .
