Make sure to arrive early enough to see the view of the temple , seating in one of the 'better' tables, and try the local white wine . Little expensive if compared with others, but worthed.
Great food, great location, a very nice and helpful staff , a bucolic and amazing mood. the restaurant is at the front of the temple and the lotus lake
19:30 is the music/dance/ceremony. You may think of reserving for this time at the front. 40K IDR for the music and min 200K IDR food consumption.
Book ahead to get a good table for the balinese show. Order a (delicious) rijstafel for 2. Enjoy & don't hesitate to walk to the stage to get up & close photos: you've paid for the tickets after all!
great food, prices and service. book in front to catch the front row and enjoy the night show in the temple .
An old favorite. Beautiful setting with the lotus pond and temple in the background. Geared to tourists and a little dearer, but food is very good.
Gamran and dance on the lotus pond . Nice atmosphere.. Sitting and dancing on the terrace .
Food very good, coctails not so much. You can see evening show in the temple from cafe on 2days.
Food quality is terrible, especially given the high cost and the generally great food available in Ubud. Aimed at coach parties watching the dance show...but the distraction of food is good.
Here it is good view to Lotus Garden , deserts and lot special tea and coffe ( e.c. Java tea ).
Cafe Lotus is surrounded by a large lotus pond framed by ancient flowering trees with one of Ubud's main temple complex, Pura Taman Saraswati (Water Temple ), serving as a backdrop.
5 days a week (Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday) you can dine while watching performances of traditional Balinese dances and gamelan orchestras.
Highly recommend: Mini-Rijstafel (selection of Balinese & Indonesian delicacies), good for two persons, and Ginger Fizz, great ginger drink!
Great view like heavan between lotus and temple ...i love this cafe and good foods
Make sure you walk in, have a seat towards the back and enjoy the temple behind the restaurant
Brilliant view of the pond and the temple front. But Pathetic food and service. Wish I had read the reviews before ordering.
Free dance and music show (traditional gamelan ), they are creative, not just traditional bali food, you must try it. Dinner 18-25 USD
Located in a magnificent setting right in the center of town , Cafe Lotus is an Ubud classic serving Indonesian and Western dishes.
Part of the restaurant is overlooking the lotus pond (hence the name). The food options for lunch is mediocre.
Come the first time for the view , the second for the food. Tamarind tuna is fantastic. Couscous chicken ain't bad either.
Oh Gosh the food is no recomended.. Tom yup soup no good, no hot for the tuna too. Very un happy.. First time drink ice cappucino with small glass.. No more come here
Very disappointing. Waiters seemed not to notice us during all the session. Besides, we waited for almost 45 minutes to get our order. Same thing with our bill. Waste of the time and nothing special.
On particular days you can watch Balinese dance from the restaurant for free :)
Enjoy a peaceful drink by the Lotus Pond
At Cafe Lotus you can also dine the Asian way, seated on bamboo mats, overlooking lotus flowers in bloom
Tasty duck paté . Give a try~
This place is very old and famous in Ubud. Service and food not so good... Although it is a very pretty place and I think it worth a coffee or a juice . But nothing more
The Mini Risjtafel, should being tried????. It's awesome..
Nice place, view and service
Overpriced & very average food. Need to pay 80k extra for the front tables for the evening performances (which is fine). Would be better to pay for the seats on the stage and eaten elsewhere tho'.
Beautiful view
Established in Bali since 1983.
Excellent local food
Food is ok but price is steep for the food you get. You could probably get more authentic balinese food elsewhere. Anyway, here you pay for the ambience and the view .
Nice garden ambience but could improve food quality. Rijstaffel, supposedly the specialty of the house, is nothing to write home about.
Thé place is nice (lotus lagon just in front) but thé food is not so tasty
Reservation highly recommended in the peak season
Beautiful location but too expensive and the staff was horrible
Don't eat the pork !!! Been sick for few days and now on heavy anti-biotics!!
Go here at 19:30 and you Can experience Bali Dance show for free while eating.
You have to taste the cocktails

Beautiful lotus pond
Longtime no see.
Marvelous place
Food is mediocre but there's a free Balinese performance which is great for the tourists ! :-)
Dance and food were OK, we had a seafood set and the half smoke duck . My server was not friendly . I wouldn't recommend this place
No hurry. Chill out
Really unfriendly service
Nice view , average overpriced food
Magic atmosphere, great attention to detail from gorgeous authentic toilet doors to bamboo leaf condiments. Great staff, a little slow on service but worth the wait once food arrived. - Richard Burkhill
tasty green pancake with coconut and banana. staff are very nice, always smiling. - James Pyeski
Great location, with the lotus pond views in the middle of Ubod. Spacious indoor & outdoor sitting. Good air conditioning! A plus on a hot humid day! - Lucille Fisher
My piece of heaven on earth! Best fabric sellers and goodies, from jewelries to knick knacks, they got it all here at a very cheap price compared to Yak. - Nadia Rachel
