Great Lawn

Since no one has lawns in NYC, they put them all together into one Great one. Do all the things you would in your own lawn, except you don't have to cut it.

A beautiful part of the park - just don't go on the first weekend of spring/summer weather. It will be overrun.

Possibly the most relaxing place on earth. Plus, in the summer, it's basically a pseudo-beach. Just be careful -- you never know when an errant softball, football or frisbee will come flying at you.

While it may be crowded in the summer, it's the perfect escape from the crazy that is NYC.

The Great Blizzard of 1947 had a record-breaking snowfall with a total of 26.4 inches (67.1 cm) in Central Park . If there were any zombies in the park that day, they were buried for sure!

Perfect spot to picnic & people watch , just remember to find a shady place on a sunny day... unless you wanna be burn.

Great place to lounge on the grass , soak up some sun, and people watch ! Nice view of the Belvedere Castle , too. Just watch out for any incoming baseballs , footballs , and frisbees .

NY Philharmonic in The Park Drinking Game: Every time they mention Didi & Oscar Schafer, you take a shot. Tchaikovsky to Tchish!tfaced in no time.

Grab a blanket, some wine and your boo, sit on a grassy knoll and enjoy some quality people watching

This sprawling grassy lawn is the perfect place to play casual pick-up games or sunbathe .

Kodak moments at the turtle pond ! Look for the wafels and dinges truck too for awesome liege waffles !

Great place to see a band. Memorable ones for me included Simon and Garfunkel and more recently (2011) the Black Eyed Peas

Beautiful park and great place to people watch and soak up the sun!

Bring a blanket and a book and relax for hours. On the weekends, adorable children are everywhere :)

Go to the Belvedere Castle and take a lot Of pics!! There is a really nice view

There's a coffee shop at the Delacorte Theater on the southwest corner of the great lawn.

It is indeed great

Nothing quite beats a spring softball game on the Great Lawn as the sun gently sets in the outfield.

Public bathrooms near the south west corner of the lawn.

Sit by Turtle Pond with Belvedere Castle in the background & enjoy a nice picnic with loved ones!

You can play Frisbee , just avoid the baseball diamonds
