Das EL-DE-Haus war von 1935 bis 1945 Sitz der Kölner Gestapo. Sein Name wurde zum Inbegriff der NS-Schreckensherrschaft in Köln. Heute ist hier ein Museum und eine Forschungseinrichtung zur Geschichte der Stadt in der Zeit des Nationalsozialismus untergebracht.

This is a fantastic museum of NS history and its impact on Cologne's citizens. If you are not a fluent German speaker, be sure to get the audio guide . The English guide is superb.
Off the beaten track but a must go for anyone with a slight interest in modern German history. The prison cells are surreal.
The prison is very interesting to visit, lots of information and quite moving. Unfortunately this is the only part of the museum where the text is also in English, the remaining 75% is German only.
Great museum /documentation centre placed in a former ns-prison. Take an audio-guide. Must see!
It would have been so much better if the documents were also translated in english. Even with the audio guide , it is not possible to grasp the specificities if you can not speak german.

Kern des Museums bildet die Gedenkstätte Gestapo-Gefängnis im Keller des Gebäudes . Dort sind Zellen erhalten, in denen Häftlinge untergebracht waren u deren Wände von den Insassen beschriftet wurden.

Если хотите основательно ознакомиться с экспозицией - планируйте на это место день, не меньше. И берите аудиогид , доступен языках на шести. Если быстро пробежаться, не вчитываясь - минимум час.
Просто потрясена этим музеем, обязателен к посещению. И берите аудиогид , на 8 языках , в том числе на русском
