Definitely do the guided tour here. 100 Euros for over an hour and of course that is across a group so as many people as you can. The tour provides great context.

A 'must visit' when in Santorini. The huge structure covering the site is just as interesting as the ancient city itself!
Helps to visit the Museum of Prehistoric Thera in Fira (http://4sq.com/cBIGlM), which houses many of the Akrotiri artifacts and frescoes , before going to Akrotiri.
One of the must-see places in the island . Try having a guided tour if possible. Definitely worth the 5EUR!
5€ for entrance but you'll definitely want & need a guide, which is 10€/person. The 2012 renovation is a stunning archaeological piece!
Definitely worth the €5 entry price. Try and book a guide though as there is alot that needs explanation. A must see place on the island .
One of the few cultural heritage sites on Santorini. Go to the museums in Fira first to appreciate the ruins.
This is one of the archaeological sites in Greece where a good guide, or at least a good guidebook, will come in handy as explanations are needed for one to really appreciate what unfolds before you.
Disappointing. Fascinating ruins, but lacking good info for the visitor. Needs more to help people understand the life & times of those who lived there. Could be so much better. Maybe pay for a guide?
Amazing site; well worth visiting. Pity they put most of the interesting finds in the museum in Fira .
It is definitely worth the visit after its reconstruction. Do not miss the experience of Archaeological site of Akrotiri ! Read more
Nice small town , it has access to three amazing beaches .
A lot of ancient stones without context. It's probably an important site for archeologists but there is no engaging signage or guidance for visitors with an interest in history.
The Prehistoric Town of Akrotiri is definitely worth a visit, as it's an important eviden, even in the hottest summer days.
The old town of Santorini originally known as Thera which was the actual name of the island .
A prehistoric place like a few in the world. Take a guide, it will enrich your experience.
At last, the famous Archaeological Site of AKROTIRI on SANTORINI Island is open to visitors again. Try the experience!
Awesome remains of an ancient cultures. Better with a guide if option is available to you
Wow! Super impressive 3,500 yo ruins displaying how advanced civilization had the potential to be at that time.
Really worth it to get a guide.
A hole city buried under the ground after the massive explosion of the volcano . Wonderful
Love this place! Open again after many years of reconstruction. A must-see venue when you visit Santorini.

Must see! Easy to combine with red sand beach . Don't count on the bus system though
Must-go, nice price 5 euro, bus station and parking in front
Make sure you do some research of your own before you get here. No signage whatsoever, the "map" they give you on the way in only works well as a fan when you get hot. Such a shame.
One of the most important Minoan sites in Greece !
A roof shades the entire site, which is a nice feature in the summer heat
At the first time, I thought that OMG why do I have to come here? It's old, weird, ancient, .. bla blla but after finding out this is the lost city , I have to say "this place must be on you list" here
Free guided tour every 30 mins. The guide is extremely good!!
They close at 3 pm on Thursday in October! Double check if it is open before going there. Heart broken.
Definately NOT worth going! It's just a pile of stones they've put up themselves, with the use of cement and steal bars . The pilars the've placed all over te 'city ' are just too horrible to endure!
Unfortunately the place is not contextuallized with information or accient materials from the local. For people that aren't familiar are only rocks.
A Must-See attraction , of great interest.
Very carefully prepared space. Excellent guides. Lots of informations. The whole area is covered with a high tech roof - you can walk without being grilled by the sun.
Simply.....amazing!
Treasure: must visit!
Very interesting
Kinda cool to see
Disapointing. 12 euros per person, 6 euros to park and all that is left here is the stones. frescos and other findings are moved to Fira museum . There’s not even replicas. Just stones and ashes
Nicely preserved historical place , showing a whole village old buildings and life . Worth visiting .
Nothing interesting.
Very beautiful view on the top !! - Kostas Ios
The restaurant at the hotel is very good! Ask Kostas for some great recommendations around the island. He is awesome! - Steven Schafer
Naturally created from volcanic eruptions a long time ago! The water is ice cold and the sand is mostly black & red pebbles. You need to park your vehicle and then follow a trail leading to the beach. - Khaled ☤
Simply love it. Very interesting black sand. Free wifi from the taverna by the beach. Free sun beds as well. - Светлин Стаев
