Serious .4 mi trek to water but it's ice cold and worth the serious climb back up. Great shelter and privy. Lots of yellow jackets around this afternoon.
Nice shelter... Lots of hanging caterpillars today while hiking up hill to the shelter from harpers ferry ..
Its a real hike down to the water but sooo worth it. Very nice resting accomodations
Not quite sure what the locked white box is for? But maybe I'm just new at this... This only my second day on the AT after all. :)
LOTS of poison ivy here. Leaves of three, let it be.
Lots of switchbacks on the way up, not a good hike for the kiddos, but wow what a view! Watch the sun rise here at least once. - Christopher Vigliotti
This is a really impressive, unique historic site along the Appalachian Trial. - Maggie MacG
