Must once during Christmas if in new york! Take the R to 86th and walk a few blocks . Some of the best lit houses are on 83rd & 84th street . ????????
So much fun. Take the R to 86th Street and head east about 15 minutes past a bunch of nice local eateries til you see the lights. Around 82nd and 12th seem to be the most extensive light displays.
This is beyond anything I had imagined even after I studied all photos. Try to check out some smaller streets also besides the obvious houses on 84. Some beautiful some classy and some fun stuff!
A hot chocolate stand out of someone's garage is now open (and yes, commercially licensed) across from the Toyland house, the first in the 20 years since this tradition began.
It’s crowded , but beautiful. You’re better off leaving your car at home and walking around through instead of driving through or trying to find parking .
Park near park on 14th Ave and 86th St and then walk around and enjoy the lights. Prob about 10-15 houses that are really over the top.
This is a must event ! Such a brilliant display of lights. Totally worth the trek deep into Brooklyn. You will not be disappointed.
Surreal but totally worth it! You can spend an hour just walking around the blocks looking at the lights. Be warned it’s a 20 min walk from the subway.
Great Christmas decorations around 12th Avenue / 84th street . Usually it's not possible to park your car. Park your car around 2 blocks away and walk to this area.
check this off your christmas things to do in nyc. so festive and fun for all ages! dress warm if you’re walking!
It’s a beautiful sight. Worth taking a kid or a date here. The lights are breathtaking.
your kids will want to stop at the mr softee ice cream truck even though it's 28 degrees outside
Start at 84th St & 12th Ave and walk up 84th St to see the house that started it all! Then drive through 83rd to 86th Sts between 10th and 13th Aves for hundreds of other professionally lit houses !
Walking along the blocks was a pure delight. Love it. It's at 84th and 12th ave
The best is huge ass Santa and his across the street neighbor silently having a light fight with the defeated neighbors who don't even other.
It takes about 20 minutes to get here when walking from the subway. The houses are so festive !
Always nice to walk around and see the work that people put into decorating. It looked weird to see little advertisement signs for professional decorators in the yards.
Fun outing for my nieces and nephew... brings out your inner kidult!
Incredible!!! One house in particular a litle creepy but the rest awesome
So crowded , but it's a must for Christmas lights enthusiasts
Must see all! But parking is a struggle tho
Like in a fairy tale during Christmas ????
It was great. Some way over the top bit some were just right. All that is needed is less people and some snow falling!
The best lights are between 11th Ave and 13th Ave, and between 85th St and 83rd St
Come around 730 or after on a weeknight. Not as crowded .
Most houses are just plain tacky . The houses were impressive. Still worth seeing. Best block is 84th between 11-12 ave.
The most effective way to obtain the holiday cheer. Such beauty and effort put into all the houses. I love this place!
A must-see during the holiday season!
We had such a good time tonight! Thank you to everyone who takes time to decorate their houses.
Lowkey fun thing to do!
It is amazing!!!
Great place to see lights in NY. Awsom
Worth the December trek if you have never been.
go for a run or bike ride to see it, it's only ~5-7 miles from most if Bklyn. Not worth the traffic/car madness.
Good for the kiddies ????
A must for the holidays. True Brooklyn
Nice, but get here earlier, park and walk and take pics.
Hidden gem in Brooklyn
One time watch
Best xmas lights in city
the best corner is on 83rd and 12th Ave
Def a come back every Christmas !
Bunch of people with too much free time...
Park 2 blocks away and walk because you will get stuck.
Definitely avoid driving, walking is the way to go!
86 street and 12 ave.
Fancy huh.
It was amazing! Wonderful park, plenty of places to lay out your blanket. Loved the fireworks display. I hadn't ever seen some of those types of fireworks. A magical night! - Faith Legendre
