Awesome selection of animals, great venue and scenery. The polar bear was by far the highlight of the day! Parking is a nightmare though!!
Nothing beats a timeless, family-friendly trip to the zoo . Come meet otters , lions , apes, snakes, elephants, and many more. Don't forget to bring a camera for up close shots of creatures of the wild!
Zoo membership is the best deal. Can include zoolights option. Discounted food prices with membership.
Laid out really well . Easy to follow path leads you through the entire zoo . Great opportunities to see the animals close up.
Great exhibits , plus the OZ works on a lot of wildlife conservation and education projects locally and globally! A great place to support.
The zoo keys are fun to have but, the boxes take a while to talk about the animals. It's just fun for little kids to have a little key of their own.
The Oregon zoo is such an amazing place! All the animals are so playful and sweet! You can even feed the lorikeets!
Really beautiful place. There is lots of other stuff nearby: arboretum, children's museum , forestry museum , trails .
It was great going on a Wednesday in April, not too many people and the weather was perfect! All the animals were out! Great day at the zoo !
A great way to spend a couple of hours they even have good beer on tap .
Great animal exhibits of all differrent regions. And parents can grab a beer for the stroll
The Zoo was founded in 1888 & is Oregon's largest paid attraction . In 1962 Packy, the first elephant born in the Western Hemisphere in 44 years, was born. He is the tallest Asian elephant in the US.
2nd Tuesday of every month is $4 admission. New elephant exhibit is coming along nicely.
Great mid-level zoo . Very natural feel. Great variety of animals. Make a visit when I'm Portland.
Come for the Squishing of the Squash in the Fall!
If you shake your keys along the glass in the Penguin exhibit , they will chase your keys along the window. The zoo keeper told me the penguins are attracted to shiny objects and love to play chase.
Clean , well organized and a ton of variety of animals! We had an awesome time
A very well blended variety of species. Good food, fun family memories and even geocaches.
Top 5 zoos . Loved it. Nicely organized . Elephants were awesome. ????❤️????????????
Great zoo . Be on the lookout for roaming peacocks . Ride the zoo train to the rose gardens .

There's a geocache in the Great Northwest area, but cell signal is poor in that area of the zoo , so look it up ahead of time. You'll need the description to open the lock.
Great place to teach children how to interact with those in mobility devices....too bad they don't
The tours , and the great people that help out! All the different kind of animals that they have.
Pack a lunch . Lots of tables and benches all over. We packed our own sandwiches and water. Water water water! You're going to walk a lot.
Be careful, this place can be a zoo if you go at the wrong time. If you go at the right time it can be a zoo too.
Fries at AfriCafe are surprisingly tasty. Enjoy them while watching the bird enclosure in the back. There's a ramp for strollers.
The lions , tiger, bears . Also compare the river otters to the sea ottets.
Sunday mornings before 11 are great. You see everything before it gets too crowded .
I like the elephant exhibit and the cheetah . Kind of a smaller zoo but still way fun.
When it's not summer go during the week when it first opens. Not a lot of people and the animals are up and about.
The new monkey and predators of the serengeti exhibits are awesome, also the micro brews available at cascade grill near the entrance are nice too.
The wolves howling at dusk is an awesome experience. It is spectacular during zoo lights at Christmas !
Best to come prepared with your own snacks & refreshments. Family of four could easily save $50-$60 by planning ahead a bit.
Always love a trip to the zoo ! Love the big cats the best:)
Check the "today at the zoo " tab on the website to see what is going on during your visit.
Love the zoo , Interesting animals and always something fun going on. Totally recomend it! <3
Very close to Washington park . Lions tiger bears ! Currently renovating the elephant enclosure
Well , i think that the reptiles are the best! But it takes so long to get to them!
Go when it rains. The animals sleep in and stay by the glass so you get awesome pictures :)
Be sure to check out the recently added Predators of the Serengeti exhibit , where you can finally find Lions , Cheetahs and more animals that the zoo hasn't always had. Read more
We get there when the gates open. Better parking spaces and less of a crowd. Especially on Sundays!
Concert at the zoo - two thumbs up!
Fries are surprisingly good at AfriCafe. Sit in the back and watch the birds. There's a ramp for strollers.
Food choices are shameful. Lots of construction . Still a nice zoo .
This place is so wonderful. I didn't get to see the polar bear today, maybe one day!
True story: the drinks don't come with straws after someone threw one in an animal pen and a goat choked on it.
The parking lot can fill up on nice days so come early.
The elephants are so neat to watch, be sure to use the upper viewing area too. Check out the elephant museum as well - Theresa ????
