As with many old English places such as this, beautiful history, wonderful park and a good restaurant , which was efficient, quick and even warm on a cold winter’s day.

A lovely place for a walk or cycle. The lake is very pretty and importantly the area is pretty much accessible for all with flat paths all the way around. Good restaurants & craft shop too

If you stray just from the main path as you walk from the Abbey to the lake , there's a parallel path , bird feeders up, see Nuthatch, treecreeper, coal tit, blue tit and annoying squirrels.

We were attacked by the ghost of a humming bird here and I lost my nanna to it. Made me play Sensible Soccer for 8 days

Don't forget to take a look round the Abbey itself!
