Renaissance Austin Hotel

This is a great place to come work during the day. Good coffee shop , comfortable chairs in a huge lobby. Wifi is available but pricey but that means its far less crowded than other places.

The lobby is very well decorated! Staff always opened door and greeted me. I spent a few minutes trying to figure out how to turn off the bedside lamps. Switch is on top of lamp fixture near the wall.

Beware if your room faces lobby and there's an event . There is double-paned glass and this party is winding down, but there is still a LOT of noise coming into my room, and it's close to midnight.

Take the stairs in the lobby down to the bottom@level and go out the doors. Hang a left and take the path to shopping, ice cream , etc. keep following to Five Guys, cheesecake , barnes

There's a second r elevator in the back by the bar behind a pillar, almost no one uses it and if your on the south side of the building, it's the way to go!

Waffle for breakfast in your room? Pass on that, it's tough and flavorless. Get the pancakes instead, with fruit on the side, not INside, amazing! :)

The switch for the lights next to the bed are on the top of the light fixture .

While at the bar , be sure to ask about the rubber chicken keychain shrine !

The lobby is great, nice seasonal decorations and a tropical fish tank. The bar is in the back... Very swanky !

Terrific bar staff , and the grapefruit martini is delish.

If attending a meeting in the Grand Ballroom , bring something warm. It's meat locker cold.

At banderas , the fish tacos are 14 bucks. At the bar , 11. My advice? Order pizza .

They charge you for Internet. Not cool even especially for someone who is Marriott Gold.
