One of the best places to go in the Twin Cities & the best museum in Minnesota IMO. Offers a variety of art styles, mediums & eras. Gets many of the tours including da Vinci, the Louvre & Rembrandt.
This museum is incredible. Yes, there's fabulous fine art . But there are also many interesting objects from the ancient world to contemporary items. All in a glorious building. Do not miss it!
Absolutely loved the Art in Bloom exhibition . I brought children to this event , activities were great for all ages. We got to enjoy other exhibits as well . Great visit over all.
Minneapolis is blessed with some amazing museums and this is one of my favourites...not to mention it has the children's theatre which is one of the best in the country !
Amazing collection. We spent 4 hours walking around and barely even touched the third floor. I think I'll need another few days in this place to see it all.
Had no idea there was such a wonderful museum that was free! We were only able to spend a couple of hours there, but we will go back! Such a wonderfully diverse collection!
I enjoyed my visit here! I got to look at awesome works of art and read the history behind everything. Would definitely recommend people to visit at least once!
I came to see the native women artist show but next time will schedule mire time to check out addl galleries . It reminds me of NYC’s MET.

Visiting from out of two and was pleasantly surprised with this museum . For a free museum , this place has plenty to see and you could spend an entire day looking at things!
For some reason I didn't expect Mpls to have a great art museum but they some fine works and a great layout that will keep me going back since it is free as well

Pretty large gallery and free! It's easy to spend hours here. What's not to love? Check out events and such held here.
Check the calendar for Family Days (about once a month, on Sundays). Tons of activities for kids (based on the theme for the month), all totally free.

Voted "Best View " of the Minneapolis Skyline by City Pages in 2012! The museum is filled with amazing things to see, but one of the prettiest pictures it holds is outside.

Everything was awesome! The exhibits are enough to keep me occupied all day. Especially the Devo exhibit .

Great classical art museum ; some modern and post-modern as well , but harder to find.
The third floor has the most exciting exhibitions if you’re looking for modern & contemporary art .
Asian exhibit , and the featured Habsburg's exhibit are worth price of admission .

The MIA has been cultivating its permanent Asian art collection , which spans 17 cultures, for more than 90 years. It's definitely worth at least 17 chunks of your time.

The family play room is a favorite destination for our kids. The coffee shop by D'Amico makes it even better!
Eat before you come. Grainstack is closed indefinitely. Halfpint is often closed. Dogwood is open, so at least there is coffee !
Don't miss the China stuff. Well , it's pretty much pan-Asian. Also the colored glass.
