Really enjoyed the food! The food is seasoned well . I was worried about them only taking cash... but that is false!!! They take all forms of payment! Definitely coming back!
Definitely over-priced, and late night everything gets priced even higher. Soul food shouldn't cost $20 a plate. That said, Mac 'n cheese is really great, as are collards , wings , and fried chicken .
Fantastic food! Fried catfish , greens, grits and cheese , cornbread , sweet tea , great fries chicken . They're doing it right!
Got the fried chicken with yams , string beans , and peach cobbler . You must stop here even if only traveling through! Staff was amazing, even the fellow patrons were awesome. Not a lot of seating thou
Literally the best fried chicken I have ever had in my life. The breading was so flavorful and the chicken was perfectly cooked. My mouth is watering just thinking about it rn!
Parking is a b...and when one of the car passengers opened the door a man on a bike smacked into it..is it worth it? Probably...the cat fish is great as well as the mac & cheese and sweet potatoes .
Good service . Food was great good portions. I enjoyed the sampler while I waited for my meal and that was on the money. However it is a bit pricey
I had the fried wings , catfish and green beans . The wings were delicious. The catfish and green beans were not impressive. I plan to return to try some other items.
Classic Soul Food , Fried Chicken and fish , and the best Mac and cheese around
I tried this place for the first time and the turkey wings in gravy were amazing. The place is very tight and small but that doesn't seem to bother anyone because they had a constant line .
The teriyaki salmon is incredible. A MUST! Can't go wrong w/ anything here though. Mac & cheese & greens are great as well .
Absolute hole in the wall , but also absolutely worth every bite. The chicken is bomb and mac & cheese is heaven
Guy Fieri, rides over to the Oohhs & Aahhs Gourmet Deli in Washington, DC, a soul food joint serving up chicken wings smothered in housemade buffalo sauce . Read more
It’s a take and leave situation here, no indoor seating at all. A little tight inside, but totally worth the wait!!
Mac 'N Cheese is to die for! Meatloaf is pretty good too. Chicken 'N Waffles are sold on the weekends (only)! Mmmmmmmmmmm.
Best mac and cheese and fried chicken . Make sure to look for it or you might not notice it.
$60 for 3 dinners ?! We coulda sat down at a "nice" restaurant ! Living Social Deal be damned. The potato salad is a winner, though.
Collard greens , fried chicken and mac & cheese are fantastic.
wings still had hairs/feathers. Mac n cheese was cheesy but bland-had to put hot sauce for flavor. Greens were good. Peach cobbler wa loke brea pudding . Sorry Guy- DDD fail!
The whiting - sweet potatoes , Mac and cheese
Some of the best soul food you can get. Isn't particularly cheap , but incredibly good – especially the homemade mac & cheese .
As awesome as the food is, the line forces you to evaluate. Maybe, the “hidden” upstairs sit down is a better idea. Maybe not.
Bring cash and be prepared to wait... But it is totally worth it!
Get the fried chicken at this homestyle soul food joint.
If your late-night adventures land you on U St., don't pass up the opportunity to cap 'em off here. The sweet potatoes would make Nietzsche dance and sing!
Best southern food in DC...go get some soul :-) you need it, looking all types of hungry!
Welp. They got new furniture upstairs so it is not as cheezy. They painted and got booth furniture .
Fried chicken , Mac n cheese , & Collards are the bomb!!!
This place was featured on DDD (Diners, Drive ins & Dives) on the Food Network. It has great food but only a few tables. Plan to order out!
Check out Oohhs and Aahhs Gourmet Deli as seen on Diners, Drive-ins and Dives Read more
Pretty much everything, but definitely try the macaroni
You HAVE to get the Turkey Wings & Mac & Cheese !! Everything else is delicious also but those are top notch.
Its all about the mac 'n cheese and yams . Though I'm not a fan of their BBQ wings .
Everything's good. Got here a bit late all the cornbread is Gone!! :( but soul food till 4am... who's complaining
The best macaroni I've ever had in my LIFE
The fried chicken is fried chicken wings . I'd recommend that with collard greens and mac & cheese . It's enough for two meals!
So so so good! It's too hot to eat downstairs so sit upstairs. Mac n cheese is incredible and the salmon was delicious!
Fried shrimp ... Potato salad ... String beans ... Cornbread ...????
Try the shrimp and grits mmmmmmmgood.
First time here. One of everything please ????
Mac and cheese was the best I have ever had.
Fried chicken breast was probably the best fried chicken I've ever had.
The Blackened Catfish with Peppers & Onions is the mutha muth (watch yo mouth) Bomb!!
The shrimp and grits is great but a lot!!
the only negative thing i can say about this place is that there is no couch to pass out on after eating the ridiculously amazing food.
Food is excellent but Dine In is sluggish. Carryout Only.
Only take cash, get the mac & chs, collard greens , and fried chicken ... Great!
Do I detect a hint of cinnamon in this Mac and Cheese ? Is that... cardamom ? I don't even know what that tastes like! Bottom line : you leave here w/o the mac and cheese , I don't know you.
The salmon is to die for!!!!
Veggie platter for me (unhealthy lol)
Love the atmosphere here! A nice, chill spot and great happy hour - Rachel Lewis
They serve the best fried catfish I've ever had. And I love their okra and tomatoes. Massive portions, too. Go at 3, after the lunch rush. - TJ
chicken & waffles for brunch. yummy ...great bar menu as well - Lisa Mallard
Good, cheap food - go for the half smoke for the best hotdog. Their homemade lemonade is also delicious. - Ashley Howe
Really cool place for a show. Try to get there early for the upstairs stools. Overall, very fun! Bathrooms were also very clean (at least early on). - Melissa Goodnight
The best rooftop bar in DC. Sunday afternoons/early evenings on the deck are usually quiet, but a pleasant time to visit. - Matt Friedman
