I live a block away and have NEVER seen a homeless person here. Having lived in NYC where the parks are very well maintained I was impressed. Plenty of grassy areas to relax in on a nice day.
Bring a change of clothes and a towel on a hot summer day and play in the fountain . It has the effect of making you feel like a kid again. Bring a chair to if you want to sit in the shade, or blanket.
There were events and a race on the weekend we visited the park . There were other people taking pictures. Very nice scenery and a great place for a walk.
