Warm & cozy , crackling fireplace - the perfect place to be in Newport in wintertime! Great service, delicious food - and the bar pours generously.
If you want to have the perfect meal that I would have over and over again, order the crispy Brussels sprouts , the crispy duck and spinach salad , bread pudding and a nice bottle of Sauvignon blanc .
Top menu choices: Steak Frittes, Salmon & gnocchi , the burger (hands down the best burger I've ever had) & the lobster mac & cheese . Also cran-apple crisp and berries & dark choc are awesome desserts .
Perfect evening sitting at Jackie O's! Table. Service was as incredible as the food: oysters , duck scotch egg followed by the best beef Wellington w/foie gras mousse inside + perfectly seared scallops
Special place. Oldest tavern in the country . Warm and cozy interiors . Order locally sourced products on the menu. Oysters , scallops , Brussels sprouts were standouts.
Sit by the fireplace in the winter. I love that this is the oldest tavern in the US. Fish was delicious, along with lobster bisque . Clam chowder isn't creamy like you would expect, more brothy.
Very cozy with a large old fireplace . Romantic candlelit tables and very quiet . Beef Wellington was amazing. The Lobster Mac'n Cheese was good but I didn't care for the crunchy garnish on top.
Beautiful building, delicious food, one of the oldest pubs in the US. It’s a perfect place for a special occasion .
Fantastic tavern with very knowledgable and helpful staff . Food and drink was great. Must check it out for history and food people.
Sautéed calamari is a bomb! Very cute patio that is pet friendly . Chicken fried sandwich pretty solid.
Must see if you're into historical bars & taverns!! They have their own IPA ! Go for it!
Known as the oldest tavern in the US, everything looks authentic and the food is great! Enjoy the fireplace in a cold night.
Every item we had was terrific, but I found their clam chowder , NE Cheese sampler and butterscotch bread pudding all especially great! Service was top notch as well .
Clear broth chowder is salty, but delicious. Lobster BLT makes a great lunch .
Love the cozy colonial feel here, especially on winter afternoons and nights. It takes me back. Better lunch menu and prices than dinner .
Have a house old fashion or a proper Guinness and you will be pleasantly surprised with the company of the bartender . The friendliest guy ever.
Lobster mac n cheese & lobster salad blt were awesome with the White Horse Tavern 1673 IPA .
The atmosphere and food are both wonderful here! Love the colonial feel and the impressive history! This is a must-visit for Newport!

Historical building with interesting high end menu but the servers are very bizarrely rude. Get a reservation or don't even bother.
