The mansions are an absolute wonder to behold of an age long gone. The audio tour is included, so make sure to have the time to listen to it (about 1.5-2 hours).

The billiard room is my favorite, be sure to check out the fantastic piece on the center of the mantle there. And try to find the turtle !

I've been to many of the Newport mansions over the years, this one is always the most stunning, views out to the ocean from the balcony .

Great stop in Newport. Self guided tour is easy to keep your own pace and learn as much or as little as you'd like. Cool seeing how the rich lived in the Gilded Age .

IMO, #1 mansion in Newport . The sea facing open air area on the second floor is open only during the summers. (the view is breath taking!)

The most lavish of the mansions. If you only have time for 1, I'd recommend this one. It gives you the best sense of what the gilded age society was like in RI at the time

They decorate the entire house for the Christmas season . Get a winter tour package online to see multiple houses for a discounted rate.

It's a little bit pricey . We went to 2 mansions. The tours are self guided with a audio device which is supplied. They are amazing to walk through.

I was skeptical about the audio tour , but ended up really enjoying it. I’d like to visit again someday, but I guess the tour would be boring to re-hear

this is a must-see while in newport. take your time and listen to the audio tour in its entirety. you'll learn a lot!

Make sure you do the audio tour ( available in many languages ) Hearing the voices of the people who lived in the house makes the experience intimate and personal.

A fascinating historic mansion that is stunning and also a monument to a specific type of American greed.

You have to pay for the tour and to walk on the grounds . But if you do the cliff walk , it will give you views of the house.

Impressive museum to the gilded age . The only thing better would be if Robin Leach narrated the audio guide himself!

There’s a beautiful house near the breakers. Go to the one that’s part of the cliff walk .

I enjoy self-guided audio tours ...this is one of the three mansions to offer it. Walk to the end of the lawn to watch the waved breaking at the cliff. Beautiful.

Put your headset on the family audio tour ! The normal audio is great and very informational, but the family audio is just plain fun.
