Buy the combo ticket here, lines are shorter than the Breakers. May want to do the Breakers first (crowds). Tickets good for a year.

Definitely do the Servant Life tour . It gives great insights into, as Jacob Riis so fittingly said, "how the other half lives".
Sign up for the Servant Life tour online or early in the day- it fills up quickly even in the off season!

The Elms is the coolest of the mansions I saw in Newport. It is a must see. Very real, I could actually envision the people living and partying here.

Don't neglect the grounds (and especially the huge trees !). They're absolutely amazing.
Nice house, but it is kind of disappointing that they don't allow to take pictures of the interior.
