Really good food; locally sourced and well cooked. The Scotch Egg was perfect, runny in the middle and crisp outside. Try their own ale , No. 5, which combines very well .
Great Sunday roasts of beef and pork belly . Steak was good too, saffron aioli was winning. One of the only places open on a Sunday, kitchen until at least 9pm. Great modern pub vibe.
Sunday Roast is amazing! Rib Eye roast beef . OMG. Eat it all. Whipped horseradish cream. .....
Another way to avoid the heat is to sit in the rather charming courtyard at the back. They've made an effort to give it a style other than 'generic beer garden '. Nice.
My favourite Winchester pub . Great food, a little off the main high street so usually quiet too.
