Salads are very good portion although they may tell you it is "appetizer ". I just had kale salad (special of the day) and am walking out very happy
Out new favorite neighborhood restaurant . Beautiful space that has a very warm and inviting vibe. The food is fresh and delicious. Such a friendly staff too. There is nothing not to love here!!!
In addition to salads and sandwiches , the menu has traditional Italian pastas , and entrees like veal scaloppine and potato-crusted salmon . Most dishes are priced under $20.
Finally! A spacious restaurant with great food and great laid back ambience. I loved it. PS the seaport district is getting better and better.
Space is fantastic. Pastas are the thing to get here-- my wife got a fish dish that was very underwhelming, but the pastas we sampled were great.
Great Food, great wine , great service & great owner.
Meat lasagna is good but small compared to the pasta portions (same price)! Coworkers loved the fettuccine bolognese so gonna have to try that next time.
Great place off the beaten path to enjoy delicious wine and food. Very accommodating and friendly staff . Definitely will go back.
Great food, lovely staff , but save some room for the dolci... Best. Profiteroles. Ever.
From the mythical ashes of the former Barbarini, which fell victim to Superstorm Sandy, comes Barbalu. Owners decided to rebuild their newest venture in the space of their old, destroyed restaurant .
Delicious pasta in a nice, friendly , neighborhood setting. I look forward to the opening of the main restaurant . Welcome back.
First night in the old seaport area. Great eclectic Italian. Great good for not too much $$
If they have the Kale salad special, get it. We almost ordered seconds. Gluten free pasta is not bad either.
Ravioli and rigatoni were perfect. Do. NOT. Leave without the tiramisu . You'll forever regret it.
Great atmosphere and fantastic food
The spaghetti with sausage and cream!
Ravioli were excellent. Bar is tiny but grab a seat and watch the cooks go at it in the kitchen.
We had the speck sandwich , lasagna , and fettucini bolognese . All were great.
Great food and service. Good place for a quick lunch or client meeting.
Put the Parmesan cheese on everything you order
Make friends with owners Stefano & Adriana if you can catch them. They are the sweetest!
Decent meat lasagna and homemade tiramisu . Good quality and portions for the price.
Lasagna was above average but not memorable. Shared a meat platter and cheese platter to start... Was good
Steak and pear pasta ????
Service, wine , food
If you come here, expect to wait a while. Service is sloooow.
Barbalu will open its doors by the end of the summer 2013!!!
Filet Mignon was all fat
best sandwiches !
The service was very slow. Sandwiches decent
Good but expensive
Wasnt worth the $. Food was over cooked, not proportioned and lacked service-barely saw our waiter and they forgot 3 entrées.
???????????????? Run! Underseasoned, overrated, overpriced.
Shit’s got egg.
Fantastic Italian place. Just reopened after Sandy. Lots of locals. Great food. Great friendly service. Best food on the Seaport. - Frida
You can't probably go wrong with any drink but negroni on tap and gin and tonic are my favorite. - I P
Enjoy the excellent Meatball sandwich, and the Chicken Parm sandwich and the Fusilli Bolognese. It's good for you! - Josue Evilla
Probably the best ice cream you can get in this area. Store staff are super friendly and seem willing to let you taste as many flavors as you want. - Honghui Yu
Amazing dive spot for great fried seafood and giant cheap beers. - Jackson Isaacson
An amazing experience to watch a concert here. A special venue, with an unique ambient and location. - Ignacio Sb
