This place is an absolutely amazing climbing centre. It can be busy but it’s really big and there are a lot of options for all abilities from top roping to lead and bouldering .
Friendly staff , routes reset regularly, lots of roped, lead and bouldering . Good food too! Try the hummus & toast .
If you like climbing, this will be heaven. Definitely go to the little cafe , all grown on site or sustainably sourced. Three guys are doing things the right way.
Great multi-discipline climbing centre. Varied and interesting routes throughout the centre. If you want to climb their tallest walls you'll need lead experience and your own rope.
Make sure to try the awesome café ; the food is amazing and the teas are grown there in the castle ! Also the brownie bites are a good energy boost ;)
Amazing experience. Everyone can find their appropriate track level here. Get a discount if you're a student!
20 October: The Centre is housed in an old Victorian water pumping station and is officially the most visited climbing centre in the country . It even sometimes has an in-house DJ to climb to.
New green bouldering on bottom floor (not pit)... 3rd from the left is marked V0-1, but is closer to V3 for those of us who are short (5 feet)!
Such an interesting place to learn to climb in, and great with the outdoor boulders on a sunny day.
Very nice routes . A lot of great and challenging routes for the intermediate climber . Great bouldering .
Great place for roped climbing and the cafe always smells yummy!
The loft opened very recently and there are awesome new challenges. Just keep going up after the cafe ...!
Don't ever leave without trying their food. Have it in the garden at the back on a sunny day for a day well spent.
Fantastic climbing gym . It would be great if people used deodorants though...
Good but not excellent bouldering, average top roping , average lead areas far too cramped (even dangerous). Great vegetarian cafe , coffee while watching the climbing, and garden vegetables for sale.
Great climbing centre! Loads of boulder areas, which are reset regularly.
Great array of bouldering and delicious, healthy cafe !
Great walls, friendly staff . Coffee place ok although they tend to serve boiling hot cappuccino ...
If you're new, register on the ipads in reception before queueing to talk to someone.
Great taster session today. Many thanks to Tim our instructor :-)
This place is real! A castle full of walls to climb, where was this when I was little
Remember to bring a £1 coin for the lockers!
Get in the gym , and chat to Tricky, he's the PT there (blatant self promotion) ;)
great boulders and great atmosphere!
Climbs upstairs are def harder, 6a upstairs was harder than 6b downstairs from the get-go
The roof climbing area is pretty big and usually has a couple of long boulder problems.
Great place for top roping / lead climbing
For every climber that pushes in a boulder queue, there are 4 who will show you how to do a tricky move
30ft walls, and tons and tons of bouldering
Try the bouldering, awesome challenges and they change regularly
If you are a student arrive before 4pm and you get a huge discount . Castle loves the student.
Its got a cafe serving wholesome things (and treats) if you're hungry!
