Travel to Chinatown by water taxi . Ping Tom Park by the Chicago River is the hidden gem in the community. The pavilion is one of the most attractive structures in Chinatown .
The park itself is nice; however I wouldn't make the trip just for it. Although, I 100% would make the trip to hop on the water taxi and ride it down to Michigan Avenue for $6!
absolutely love this park ! Rent kayaks from the REI boathouse, enjoy one of the best views in the city , and explore Chinatown !
Beautiful place for a picnic or bird feeding. Small playground for children and also a stop on the water taxi tour
There is a pair of railroad tracks that run close to the children's playground . Also, the Orange Line comes thundering overhead every 5-10 minutes.
Rent a kayak from the "Urban Kayak " stand (just east of the pagoda/water taxi stop) and explore the Chicago River on your own.
A true hidden ???? Well worth the walk.

This is a super charming park in which to while away the time! Absolutely wonderful!
the outfield can be quite entertaining; if the softball ever takes a 90 degree turn or flips up 3 ft from a divot, chalk it up to "welcome to ping tom" Read more
