Food Emporium

Better than you'd expect given the location and facade. I come here a lot for staples and missing ingredients.

A lot of these tips are from 10 years ago, so I assume it’s been remodeled. As of 2020: very clean , organized store. Regular price is expensive , but I often find good sales and stock up then.

Full grocery , bakery , hot ready to eat, sushi . Prices are a bit high, but the hours are very convenient.

Great selection of vegetarian food

Avoid it daily between 4-9:30pm. Best time to shop is as soon as they open any day of the week.

Overpriced most of the time but you can catch some great sales.

They have about two small carts to serve a population that's probably 75% shopping for one or two.

Absurdly unpleasant cashiers . Unbelievable. Last option for food shopping always.

They have a breakfast hot bar 8-11am

Go early morning on a Saturday. No one there at 8am, you can get in and out in 10 minutes.

Courteous staff ... Lottsa variety

Not the best food selection, but I only shop here since it's so close to where I currently live.

This is the only Food Emporium in Midtown with a Coinstar machine .

Check those expiration dates! They aren't the best at keeping things fresh.

The most ghetto of staff I have ever endured. The seafood station was left unattended for 15 mins then finally the guy comes back with the name tag 'Ghetto'. How appropriate

Don't bother coming here during peak hours, about 23 ppl in lines with only 3 lanes open. Plenty of employees walking around though.

Cereals are usually over priced as their fruit yet good selection of other items.

Really expensive

Wait a few more days to stock up after #Sandy. Very bare shelves

Never seem to be enough cashiers working during optimal times

Soooooo Over Priced Is Not Even Funny...

The armpit of hell. They only employ the worst of the worst with zero social skills who are only concerned with their own personal issues. No sense of urgency or responsibility and freely swearing.

Coinstar Machine Tips - store opens at 7AM but machine "out of order" until 9. Starting Oct 1 you have to spend 80% of your ticket on store products. Major fail.

Horribly overpriced.

One word: GHETTO
