First time here and loved the experience. We order the Meat Lovers to try a little bit of everything and we high recommend. The staff is very attentive and the ambience is huge and super clean .
$70 for 2 includes 5 apps and 5 things to BBQ plus smores dessert . Can share between 3 if you add more. Add scallops & mixed mushrooms . Apps select spicy tuna volcano , tuna seared & garlic rice
Of course the grill is great but I am in love with the egg soup and sukiyaki bibimbap ! The scallops are great too. Pro tip: cook scallops first because they tend to stick to the grill.
My girlfriend and I came here after a long morning of getting registered for a class . They have amazing service, very attentive and the food was delicious. Definitely make it here for happy hour !
If you're vegan like me, you'll surprisingly have a bunch of options here. The food is amazing, and the fact that you cook it on a grill in front of you is very unique!
I had the Shogun meal here, which featured a variety of high quality meats for cooking on the grill. Always come with great company, as sharing is vital to the experience
This place is amazing! The meat is high quality and very tasty. We have been there several times with friends and every time is so good.I love their edamame and beef meet. The sake was also very good.
I like this location most. Authentic Japanese vibe and the window seat with shoji is a fantastic date! Miso in love is a good menu choice to share, and the cocktails are most friendly also.
New menu item: Kim-cheese fries . Surprisingly yummy! I wasn't sure what to expect mixing cooked kimchi and melted cheese on top of French fries . $5 at happy hour
Great lunch menu . I personally always order the personal menu special. Good choices of meat. For appetizers , I get the spicy calamari .
strongly recommend this place. The food is visitamazing the draft beer too. Also the location is very convenient. If you are in the neighborhood this is a must place to !
What a place! You bbq your own meat and their marinades are amazing. Definitely a place to go. If it's you first time try one of the taster menus
The food is delicious, and the whole idea of cooking it yourself is pretty awesome too! AND they serve Lady M Mille crepe cakes for dessert !
The drinks were amazing (and 1/2 off at the bar ) and the food was delicious. We did a group meal and there were so many courses/options! The service was great, too.
Get the $70 dinner special for two. It's definitely worth it and you'll leave there feeling full. Bi bim bop is gooood.
Happy hour specials (Mondays are happy hour ALL DAY) are awesome and allow you to eat more bang for your buck. Come hungry... leave smelling like hot, smoky MEAT. Fun, cheap , and delicious!
At first I thought it was a bit strange, the idea of a Japanese barbecue . But it is amazing, an excellent place to come with friends or for a romantic night.
Grilling at the table is a fun concept anywhere, but it's the view that does it here: all the midtown skyscrapers give this place a Blade Runner-like atmosphere.
Some of the cheaper meats are legit great if you just want to try it out. Come for happy hour for best deals.
Half off drinks when you wait for your table. What the bar misses in ambience it makes up for in cheap drinks !
Make sure you get the beef tongue & lamb chops . Garlic spinach , sweet potatoes , and enoki mushrooms are great too. Happy hour after 930pm on weekdays!
So delicious - get a mix of meats & veggies . There are many varying happy hour specials depending on the day. Cap the evening off with an order of s'mores . Nice window seating as well .
Great Japanese bbq , drinks and service with floor-to-ceiling windows in midtown east building
Japanese take on Korean BBQ - the meat is high quality, everything is fresh. There's a good atmosphere & the booths are cozy and have a private feel. http://www.mecritic.com/places/place/6629/Gyu-Kaku
They have lunch and dinner happy hour where the prices are much more likable. If your in a hurry during your lunch hour, make sure to let your waiter know, otherwise your food won't come out as fast.
Had a lot of fun cooking, though our dinner was interrupted by a fire alarm and the wait to be seated and reseated was quite long. Don't judge by the appearance outside, restaurant is much bigger.
It can get noisy here so if you're looking to have a quiet dinner go elsewhere. Otherwise the food is wonderful and there usually some form of entertainment with people and the grills.
If you're going with 2-3 people, I recommend the Fuji Combo for 2. Definitely get the garlic fried rice - SO GOOD.
Fun place to come bbq your own meats with your friends. Meat isn’t the highest quality but it’s nicely marinated. Come hungry.
This place is absurdly amazing. Go with a group and order their kobe beef combos for the best experience. Servers tip you on the best way to cook your meal and the Bibimbap is life altering .
Grab a late dinner during their late-night HH, starting at 9:30 during the week. Great food and drink prices. And s'mores for dessert are a MUST.
The happy hour is as good as it gets. $3.50 Asahi drafts ? Yes please. As far as the food is concerned, go for the Kobe style beef combo.
The happy hour special is the best here plus hot sake for a really good price! Be sure to get the membership card if you go often.
The booths here are more private than most cook your own restaurants & there is almost always a delicious special of one kind or another.
Great location for lunch meetings. Its not noisy and you can meet and enjoy a meal without being rushed.
Good lunch deals , make a reservation !
One of my favourite places! Great garlic edamame and the ahi tuna for the grill is the best!
Fantastic place. Had so much fun cooking the food. The whole 1/2 price booze just makes this place perfect.
Fun Japanese BBQ . Fried shrimp dumplings are pretty good.
Good athmosphere, tasteful meat, good japanese beer :)
There's a waiter who works here named Ugo. He was my server the very first time I ate here, and he is the nicest server I have ever come across in my entire life. What a guy.
Come during happy hour ( sat& sun for lunch !). Great services. Beef tongue is amazing!!! And make sure to order green tea crepe for desert !!
You can have half price starters and drinks while waiting to be seated which is pretty awesome
Guests have the option of sitting at a table with a stove embedded in the center where they can barbeque their meat to their own liking.
The garlic noodles are delicious! Perfect lunch to pick up or have delivered.
We came without reservation and could enjoy the happy hour @ the bar , good deal ! Smallest menu is great, actually too much. Just don't expect to be allowed to change an item, they refuse.
Happy Hour is from 9:00pm to close time Monday to Thursday. Almost everything is half priced. :)
they have a menu for 4 that makes the service and the choice extremely smooth!
Always get their garlic fried rice to accompany the bbq meats !
Extended Happy Hour ! Now everyday from 11:30a - 6p and again Mon - Thurs from 9:30p-10:30p. 50% off almost all drinks + new food items!
It can sometimes get a lil crowded but its worth the wait. Cheap beer and a fun menu! - Jackie V
All around wonderful experience. Quality ingredients, cozy atmosphere, and incredibly fun to cook. Skirt steak was the highlight and very affordable. - Jess Coleman
Top of the rock view is definitely the best one in New York. Don't bother with the Empire State - Swemeatballs .
The buttered popcorn is delicious! Food and drinks are relatively cheap - Vonatron L
Great beer selection and good bar food! Really great bartenders too! - Gary Morrill
