This is probably the weirdest museum you'll ever go to in LA, and it'll probably leave you confused at times, but overall it's an interesting experience! There's tea & cookies served too upstairs!
It’s a great place - interesting, idiosyncratic exhibits . Fun, weird creative space. Treads on the borderline between real and wildly unreal. Drives me insane that they won’t let you take any photos.
LA (See) Weird and wonderful museum/art project. Don't miss the microscopic mosaics made entirely out of the scales of butterfly wings and the 2nd floor tea room is charming.
This place is indescribable but highly recommendable. Must visit place. And, you need to come back often as exhibit changes frequently.
If you love the world, go and don't ask any questions. Don't google it. Don't get curious or all smart. Just go. Enjoy some tea .
Grab some tea and pet the dog while admiring portraits of Soviet space dogs.
The Russian Cosmonaut Dog exhibit features bird sounds (instead of classical music ) at different hours. Definitely check out the exhibits on Superstition, Time Travel theories, and X-Ray photography .
At this offbeat museum , see bizarre relics "evoking the more obscure and poetic aspects of natural history, the history of technology and science, and their entwined realizations in human artistry ."
Discount with student/teacher ID. If they're offering while you're there, be sure to have some tea on the upper level and check out the garden .
Juxtaposed, ambiguous, ambivalent, obscure, subtle, vulnerable and powerful, so real. An incredible place!
One of the most intriguing museums I've been. By far.
Just go and don't ask questions. Make sure you make it to the rooftop tea and bird garden .
Just as ridiculous and brilliant as everyone says. Don't miss it if you're in Los Angeles!
steampunk transmedia art . totally worths it. might take a few hours to go around if you pay attention to the details.
Very fun off the wall science art stuff. Nice roof balcony
Mikel Jollett of the Airborne Toxic Event says, “It’s just weird—part farce and part academic exercise.” They feature everything from miniaturized mobile-home dioramas to superstitious remedies.
The weirdness the atmosphere the roof top of dove sanctuary
I first went here about 5 years ago with a good friend. If David Lynch decided to open a museum on a minimum budget. Impressive in its amateur, abstract quality, this is an LA gem. Read more
Like if Thomas Pynchon wrote a museum . This is maybe the best place in LA
Take your time. Pick up the phones. Notice the details. This place is a gift .
We found parking in a small street close to the museum , Im not sure if the museum has any parking .
Weird , but interesting. As everyone says, David Lynch must be a guest curator here.
neat place. make sure to visit the tea room on the top level.
A great place to learn a lot of information that is additional.
Don't forget to play Cat's Cradle at the upstairs exhibit .
Get to learn a bit more about what things are. Awesome place!
One of LAs best kept secrets
You have to see it to believe it.
This is in my neighborhood , and, apparently those who go in are initiated into their secret society and have a new lens on the world - take the wife Read more
No complaints it's something you have to see for yourself.
Do the full tour , then go upstairs and have some complimentary tea and biscuits . Leave a tip, it's only right.
Have a hearty debate over what is and isn't real. Admission is $8.
Don't think too much. Just take it all in.
Check out the sloth
Weird and entertaining
It's like waking up in the middle of a riddle. The scale models of mobile homes are pretty sweet. Just can't figure out the punchline.
Fantastic, and not about what you think
A different dimension <3
Don't read the tips
This place is so freaking eerie. I keep thinking that the doors are gonna slide shut behind us, like in Scooby-Doo. There is this room on the 2nd floor that is like they are putting a hex on you.
Crazy but i liked it :-)
Enter the alternate dimension within the Museum . Visit the tea room upstairs for a drink. Expect to see David Lynch characters.
Dark and a little too warm in areas.
Interesting but weird
