I've been avoiding this museum for years because I thought it was about "boring" history. How wrong I was! One of the best museums in LA. Visit the Butterfly and Spider Exhibits . The dinos are coolest
In the warmer months the butterfly exhibit is the star of the show!
The dinosaur Hall is great! But there are plenty of other exhibitions as well so make sure you check both floors and as many rooms in the building! Rose garden is free and next to the building too!
Great museum ! Wide and sprawling and teeming with information and history, it's located next to USC and the Science museum . You could spend a couple of days visiting it all!
Mammal Halls, Dinosaur Hall , Hall of Gemstones and Minerals, California History Hall and the Avian Exhibit ! Overall one of my top favorite museums .
There's dinosaurs and stuffed animals from around the world! Also a vault solely dedicated to glamorous gems and a wing for rocks and minerals. Very large. Got lost a few times despite the map.
Get the patron level membership. You get to skip the line up front and gets you into the butterfly exhibit even when it's sold out. This membership also includes membership to over 300 museums
Great place for families and children. Dinosaurs , mammals and reptilian exhibits the best.

It was outstanding! The entrance was 12$ with student ID. The biggest collection of mineral stones and animals that I’ve seen!

Beautiful, versatile exhibition about dinosaurs , living insects, geology, city history. Take the train , skip the parking .
Who can go wrong with dinosaurs ?Lots of interesting stuff to see. Plan to spend at least 2 hours to really take it all in.

Very friendly staff . I parked over in the science A parking lot and they were kind enough to to run down the info as to when the parking lot closed.

Pretty much a family oriented museum but there are some nice dinosaur exhibits and displays on evolution.

Come during the week before lunch to avoid screaming school kids and wailing babies. Grab lunch at the cafe downstairs.

The hall of animals is interesting. Outside there are ice cream vendors but they will scatter when the police come.
