The 500,000-strong collection of American West-themed art w/ exhibits that range from The Cowboy Gallery to How the West Was Worn by Michael Jackson will leave you with an appreciation for Americana.

Wonderful museum that does an incredible and informative job of presenting the complex history of the West. Fantastic curated temporary art exhibitions as well so come back often with a membership.

The center’s galleries explore broad themes relating to the history and diverse cultures of the American West. Free admission on the second Tuesday of every month.

Stroll along displays of family altars, watch ceremonial performances by Aztec and folkloric dance groups, and shop for Day of the Dead trinkets and treats at a traditional Mexican mercado on Oct. 26.

Gene Autry was well known from over three decades as The Singing Cowboy on the radio , in movies and on TV . He also recorded classic holiday songs including Here Comes Santa Claus, which he also wrote.

Salsa Night on Thursday during the summer is fun even if you don't dance !

Check out the Ponderosa map painting - the one from Bonanza. The original is now at the Autry. And the cafe is very nice, nothing fancy but convenient and comfortable .

Thursdays in July and August are Sizzling Summer Nights. Salsa from 6 pm to 9 pm with a live band . Bring your dance shoes
