I love the Vulcan beer , and their cheese plate is really good (albeit expensive ). It's right next to the train station so it's fun to do Black Star as a happy hour if you work near another station.

The fries with bacon added are a must get. Their house beers are great, well above what I was expecting. Just make sure you know that you bus your own tables, and they don't take tips.

I’ll forever say this.. The Chicken Tikka Masala at Black Star Co-op is the best in town . Take it from an Indian dude. It’s hands down the best. Oh, the beers are great too!!

The folks who bring kids are the yuppies who live in the condos & it's not illegal to bring them. & it's not like it's 6th St! It's a restaurant/brewpub! There were super cute babies in here tonight!

Must go spot for beer lovers. Food is gastropub-like. Fries are awesome. Usually a good crowd and dark beers . No tipping!

Love the place, the music and the beer . Vulcan was a nice option of beer .

Really loving the cantankerous dockhand . Brew has it all: porter , chili spice undertones. Like a good smooth whiskey with a lip-searing kick.

Really laid back bar in a modern space with a lot of natural light . Food is great! Place has a large patio area

The in-house brews are wonderful and the staff are all well paid. These guys do it right! Also, try the chili cheese fries , you'll LOvE them!

Best beer flights & wedge salad . Seriously y'all don't sleep on the wedge salad ; make sure you get it with shrimp avocado cheese and egg

For an unhealthy vegetarian option , grilled cheese is tasty, you can request it on sour dough from Easy Tiger, which is the way to go

Are you looking for incredibly tasty beer and food, plus outdoor seating , and a family friendly environment ? This is it. Don't tip, this is a co-op and everyone makes a living wage .

The question should be, what's not good here? Fresh ingredients , fresh brewed beer , great environment. Always a nice time!

They get paid a living wage so no tips accepted. It's nice to just pay for what I want. Great beer and best chili in town .

Nice hoppy beers . Fries are really good, fish and chips are really good, grilled cheese is really good.

We did not do well in trivia , but it was fun. The announcement system is a little quiet , so sit close to the host if you can.

The fries are delicious! They are more than willing to let you sample beers and there is no tipping allowed which makes the prices really reasonable. And right next to the metro rail.

The house beers are solid. The venue is a great place to go with groups.

Fried jalapeños were delicious but crazy spicy . Chicken sandwich was alright. Bar steak was great. Try the raspberry ale !

Bartenders are friendly so long as you wait behind the line before ordering. They'll also patiently provide you with samples of each of the beers on tap .

Get here early the lines are long but worth the wait! I love the burgers and other items have been wonderful as we'll.

If you have a gluten sensitivity, ask for no aioli with the bar steak . The meal is advertised as gluten-free, but the malt vinegar aioli on the side is NOT gluten-free.

The location is weird but the beers are great and the food is surprisingly great. And the employees make a living wage !

Definitely try the coop beer sampler if you don't know what to get. Also the food is really good quality for a pub/bar.

During peek service there are two lines : one for everything (including food) and one just for beer . Not hungry? Veer right and enjoy a faster line .

Best fries in town , and they came with the perfect winter day grilled cheese sammich ! The side of slaw I added made this a great post-rail meal!
