Come here for authentic blood dripping stakes: Basque chuletones. I had cod though and it was great, but I found the torrija for dessert disappointing, far from the real thing. Great place overall.
Among the best food I've had in London. Amazing traditional steaks (txuleton), tapas (pintxos ), seafood , and desserts (torrija ). Beautiful decoration.
Huge coal-fired grill. Rubia gallega (10 year old) steak is worth the price - a very different flavour, share between 2-3 people. Duck was delicious. Warm strawberries & pepper for dessert is a must!
The Rubia gallega (from free-ranging, grass-fed basque cows that are at least 12 years old)
We were very well cared for by the staff who were attentive and informative about the menu. The food was simply delicious. Steak to share was fantastic.
Food avg by London standards, poor by Basque . Aims to be a upper class establishment but retains the chain fee of its Catalan siblings. Prices are extortionate - charged £300+ for a single steak .
Hugely overpriced - £8 for lettuce, £16 for a tiny tuna tartare ?? Steak was admittedly excellent, but otherwise not much to recommend it
Food is average. The service has been very slow - half of the tables were empty the whole time yet our table was ready 30-45 minutes after we arrived. Food waiting time was 35-40 min after ordering.
Steak .. and other things but definitely steak first and foremost
First month since opening. The food is basque ie good meat + fish/seafood. Extensive wine list . The service tries but lacks (+mistakes in bill), prices exaggerated. Deserts very spot on.
Overall a little pricey for what you get. Lovely manager but other staff could be better.
The aged beef
Meat’s good but expensive
Meeeeeeeat!
Food is good but not what you expect for the price that you pay. The ingredients may be high quality but I expect something that requires a lot of preparation, something a bit special for this price.
Front of staff provides poor service. First says there is a table, then extends the wait time even though we can see several free tables. Then says the waitors are super busy (not really). Really bad.
The staff are super unprofessional when getting a table. They said it would take 2 minutes to be seated and then they came back 10 minutes after saying it would be another 10 minutes . Never go back
The bread and butter was delicious! Smoked potatoes, roast duck and turbot were good. Save space for dessert - light cheesecake and interesting ice creams (brown bread & marmalade, olive oil) - Daren Williams
Service was fantastic, and food was very good too! Reasonably priced compared to other good Spanish restaurants in London! - D & C
