Welcome to the birthplace of the Kentucky Derby! Churchill Downs and its signature race were launched in 1875 by Colonel M. Lewis Clark.
14 $ is a bit steep but it is interesting learning about the history. If you go once every 10-15 years then it's worth it. Great for young kids.
luxury suites are surprisingly affordable outside of the derby -- book one ahead and ask for pat to man the room.
See the Museum and make sure you stay for a Race! It's one of those experiences you won't forget to be at such an old and historical sight! Secretariat was there! Barbaro! So many names!
Derbyyyyyyyyyy. Bring food in plastic wrap and clear bags. Buy chairs to be used for Oaks and Derb instead of 100s for bench seats .

You owe it to yourself to go to the Kentucky Derby at least once, wear a big fancy hat, drink mint juleps and bet on horses .
Make sure you use the betting app. Makes for a much more enjoyable experience . Just don't ask the paramutual clerks about the app. They hate it because "it is taking their jobs."
Don't wait for the Kentucky Derby ( which is awesome) ... enjoy the sport of kings at America's most famous place to race.
Love the Oaks and Derby. Night racing is a blast during the summer, and love the fall meet. :) check out the museum if you're visiting.
