We did the free tasting with Art . He's a gem. Pro tip: split the bourbon tastings since they can only give you 2 tastes. Ends with dessert .
Many years ago when I first picked up here, the employees were so arrogant and high-toned, I thought the product must indeed be exceptional !!! So I purchased a bottle, I was right !!!
Free tours on Saturdays, every hour. No reservation required. Our guide was nice and very informative. The tour ends with a tasting of 3 of their products and you get a souvenir shotglass.
Took the historic tour with Freddie . A true southern gentleman. His vast knowledge of the operation is generations old, and he made me feel like family. Truly, one of the greatest experiences I've had
Absolutely beautiful grounds. So many reasons to visit! My son had prom pictures made here and they were gorgeous. Tours , tastings, park , great space to spend a day!
Went on a tour , Jackson was the guide. He was funny, and informative. The smells during the tour are amazing. The tasting afterwards was good. They have a giant gift shop with bottles, shirts , etc.
Go early, even if reservations are booked , and you will find a FREE tour . Tour guide was informative and great post-tour tasting. While waiting for tour , no place to grab a drink or snack .
One of the best bourbon tours in Kentucky (and it's free!) with tastings at the end. Excellent shop too.
Freddie was the best tour guide ever! Awesome place and a very informative and educational tour .
Absolutely fantastic tour - and completely free. You don't see the bourbon actually being made (unlike the Woodford Reserve tour nearby) but the tour still great. Shame about the very cheesy video!
Loved the tour today, though it was tragically mostly men. Shelly was great and we got to see two small batch bourbons being bottled and packaged on a small line . This place is worth the time!
Tour and tasting here is a must! The tour guides are charming and very knowledgeable . Will definitely be back for more my next trip!
The tour was great! Learning more on how Bourbon is made in Kentucky. Bought some Straight Bourbon and its Cream; delicious!
really enjoyed this distillery tour ! def worth the stop, even if your not a whiskey aficionado ????
Love the Buffalo Trace Bourbon ! Goes down smooth! Tour guide Will was so knowledgable and funny! Great job!
The Hard Hat Tour (reservations required) is fantastic. You get to taste the various stages of mash and Freddy is highly knowledgeable and enthusiastic!
Maybe the best distillery tour on the Bourbon Trail . Gift shop disappointing though...they only sell 2 of their 18 bourbon brands there. ????
Awesome distillery complex on the edge of Frankfort. Had a great tour guide and one of the best tasting experiences there.
Their ghost tour was super cool and free! The bourbon cream is delicious. Great people and a great experience!
Don't be discouraged if you can't get on the popular hard-hat tour . I'm sure it's brilliant, but the regular run through is plenty informative, and entertaining enough for the non-obsessed.
Loved the tour so educational and a great place to just stop by and check out. It'd make great place to have a wedding!
Like the others, they consider themselves the oldest distillery of bourbon . Tour was insightful and definitely worth a stop.
Take the hard hat tour ! Unique experience along the bourbon trail .
Really enjoyed the tour with Regina. Very informative and interesting.
Buffalo Trace Distillery was the first American distillery to be named “Distillery of the Year.” Learn more about the distillery and prohibition in this C-SPAN American History TV YouTube video. Read more
Request Freddie as your tour guide if you can. His family heritage is tied into the distillery and he provides a great tour .
Freddie Johnson was our tour guide and he was fantastic!!
Cool, free, low key tour . Video is a bit cheesy but you may get to see them bottling up some Pappy!
In depth knowledge of tour guides ...real up close and personal views .
The Hard Hat Tour is a must do. Just call in advance for a reservation - still no charge but great behind-the-scenes info!
Ghost tours are year-round! Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights, starting at 7pm! Call for reservations :)
Great tour and tasting. Bottles are a little cheaper ar the liquor stores
Love their wiskey, but the tour was surprisingly bad. Just an awful video and a bottling line . Tasting session was low end and half vodka/liqueurs.
Tastings and tour were great! Bourbon Creme is amazing!
Try Nd book the hard hat tour if you can. And Warehouse C is pretty awesome - tornado surviving Taylor came from that building.
Great spot. Great tours . Great tasting. Great people.
Freddie leads the best tour I've ever been a part of. Funny, smart, and a bourbon authority. Thanks, Freddie !
Their whiskey is great, but the tour was a little lackluster compared to Makers and Woodford.
They do "Ghost Tours " at night. It's a great way of fitting in another distillery (and tasting) when all the others are closed.
Try the 20 Minute trading if you don't have time for the full tour
Seriously, the Bourbon Cream is amazing. Get some bourbon balls too.
Bourbon tastings, lots of history, historic surroundings
Great Tour . Make sure you get Freddie . He Rocks!
Fantastic distillery tour . My favorite of the trail . Freddie (tour guide ) was great. Cream Liqueur is a good buy.
Great tours and not as stuck up as some neighboring distilleries
Buffalo Trace is the longest continuously operating distillery in the United States . Way cool.
Normal tours , haunted tours , historic bourbon and location
Fun tour , bourbon tasting, and a beautiful place for a wedding!
The entire tour was excellent.
The bourbon cream is awesome!
Fantastic tour, well worth the $10 entry fee. You get a lot closer to the bourbon making process than at other distillery tours. - Duncan Howsley
One of the less touristy spots, and a great range of products to try and to take home - all but one of which are not available in Canada. Great staff here too - we had fun. - Kari MD
The food is great. Be sure to try all the suave options to see which one you like. Carolina twang is very good. - Eric Monhollon
