No benches inside the gate to sit on or leave your stuff, so if you plan on hanging out in the water with your kid you'll have to leave your stuff outside the gate. Bring the bare minimum.
There are three different areas for dogs based on size--small, medium or large. Plus, the puppy parks seem to be the busiest Sunday mornings and fridays at twilight.

Great scenery, natural hot spring and swampland. Lots of wildlife and you can feed the ducks, fish and turtles. Small playground for kids also. Very peaceful and quiet. Great for picnics. - Kaitlin McIntosh
For those who can only hike short distances, the tram offers on and off stops along the way so you can hike your favorite stretch even if you cannot hike the whole distance. - Nancy Hill
