Check out the upstairs bar . Downstairs has dj in the pub area (good, not too loud ). You might miss the up upstairs area . Quiet old timey bar with traditional classic paintings of old Scotland.
The pies are no match to the burgers but delicious nonetheless.
Your standard Taylor Walker chain pub . Cosy and efficient with a standard menu. Not cheap but it is handy for a quick drink and fast food
Nice place to relax with an ale . Staff turn away any stag dos .
The Loaded Burger was quite the start for our trip to Edinburgh.
Great food available - better fare than most pubs on the Grassmarket. Order their special burger - topped with onion rings , bacon and lots of cheese .
Get the Guinness and the platter. Don’t look back. Don’t look at the sun.
Try the haggis ,neeps and tatties
Get yourself a pint of Hoegaarden in a frozen glass and head out the back on a warm summers evening. Amazing.
Today however, on a World Cup night the garden closes at 9... And they never bothered to change the signs...
The back patio is nice. Seek it out for a break from the hen and stag dos
Beef sliders , beef pies , fish , chips
Just good pub grub. Fish and chips was ace.
Mass market chain pub with decent grub but not many interesting ales
Delicious steak and ale pie
Good food. Both burger and Cod & Chips are delicious and generous in size.
Reasonable ale selection and beer garden , otherwise a crappy chain pub catering for tourists .
Sunny day? Come here and head back to the beer garden . A real hidden pearl ...
Good fresh beer
Great place for that mix of bar scene and dancing you're looking for.
Was starving and the Blue and Bacon burger hit the spot nicely! Would recomend the comfy armchairs at the window :)
Standard chain pub experience, but they do have a decent selection of ales available
Fish and chips mükemmel
Great food menu
Amazing steak pie !
Good fish 'n chips .
Be careful of the dance floor on a Friday night, lots of flailing limbs abound Read more
Touristy but nice.
Steak and ale pie v good! Service a tad slow though
Dinnae go in the gents, they're pure stinkin
Lovely atmosphere
The best chicken wings I ever tasted!
Disco ! Init!
Don't ask for Jagerbombs , don't spill on the bar , don't sit beside the toilets & don't ask for a replacement pint - you'll be made to pay for both, even if you don't drink the dodgy one!
a bit expensive and average food (not bad but for this price?)
Overpriced and overheated. Much better pubs on the street.
Macho's were pretty half arsed
Over a fiver for a pint and a tomato juice ... ouch!
Ridiculously expensive . Avoid!
Go somewhere else
Excelente comida, pidan comida local que es haggis con puré de papá y zanahoria y de beber crabbies con una rodaja de limón uff una delicia
Le fish and chips est spacieux et propre, le voisin de table etait un peu énervé par contre...
nice, cozy and friendly bar! live music on a sunday evening was unespected and amazing! typical irish pub, everyone was dancing. great!!! - Joana Magalhães
Brilliant food with absolutely gigantic portions. Adobe interesting ales as well, underrated pub (even though it's a chain pub) - Jimmy Angelakos
The place is quite stuffy but the food is awesome ... Try out the Highlanders Chicken and the haggis rolls... Honestly, delicious. The staff are very helpful as well. - Omar Farrugia
Bars, shops, historical places, atmosphere, music. Simply amazing! - Nataliia Kulak
Great place for a pint on the mile. They have a nice selection of Scottish craft beers. - Justin H
Great views, good layout, great display of the history and culture, I liked exploring - Candice Rivera
