The cavatelli pasta alone is worth the trip to Carroll Gardens , but, then, so is the rest of the food & scene here, which is quintessentially Aging Hipster in the best possible way. [Eater 38 Member]
A perfect spot for a date. When the weather is warm, there is a lovely garden that you can eat in out back. Don't know which wine to order? Try a carafe of the house red .
I would gladly take a bubble bath in their sage butter cavatelli . One of my favorite dishes in all of NYC.
Oh, mama. It’s so good. The cavatelli with hot sausage and browned sage butter is stupid good. The escarole and cavatelli soup is stupid good. The meatballs ! I could go on. It’s all just so, so good.
Everything from the food and cocktails to the staff was perfect. Even the music selection. I dreamed about the cavatelli after eating it. Also, don’t skip the octopus salad .
One of the best Italian restaurants I've ever been to. Fresh and delicious- all ingredients made in house. Try the cavatelli with sausage and pappardelle with braised rabbit !
Beautiful outdoor space in the back and awesome food. Gnocchi was delicious. Great wine selection by the bottle or glass. $5 olives that were assorted red and green!
I rarely eat meat, but the cavatelli with sausage was out of this world. Four weeks after my visit, I'm still dreaming of that pasta . Great restaurant , vibe, and service.
Homemade cavatelli is the freshest around and the BLT is genuine goodness. Doesn't knock you off your socks but the warm ambiance and the quality in ingredients and service should send you right back.
The octopus salad and the cavatelli were ridiculously good - I can't wait to go back and have them again (but also can't wait to try everything else). Excellent cocktails and service too!
The garden is magical! Paired with the octopus salad and any homemade pasta - perfetto!
If you're going to get crostini , go for the mushroom and truffle oil . The cavatelli is amazing, as are the meatballs . Beet and avocado salad is amazingly fresh as well .
Order a glorious and generous combination of cheese , charcuterie , and vegetable antipasti and you have yourself a feast. A timeless Carroll Gardens hit, this place.
Wonderful Italian Restaurant . You can't go wrong with any of the pasta dishes! Their meatballs have garlic and raisins - personally I loved them, but if you don't like raisins opt for something else.
A neighborhood treasure - Get a few salads and a couple of mains. The cavatelli pasta is the best dish on the menu. Also if the weather is good, try and sit in the awesome back garden .
The appetizers are fantastic but I was disappointed with the famous cavatelli . I’d either order another pasta entree or visit the wine bar next door for cozier, more intimate vibes!
Perfect for date nights . Sweet potato ravioli is out of this universe . The buttery-sage sauce is innovation! Drinks are on the money! Long waits-worth it. Wine is delish! Spaghetti meatballs are wowza
I had the black Ink pasta with sea food lightly spicy and absolutely delicious .my group of nine all truly enjoy themselves and swore to come back very soon .
Pleased as punch over my dinner . Had meatballs , sweet potato ravioli and a side of sunchokes. Even a glass of the house red was tops. I'm looking forward to trying everything on the menu.
Amazing place to have brunch or get married.
Just about everything is excellent here--the only problem is that it's so hard to get in. Lovely backyard as well , unfortunately it's just about always booked up for special events .
The cavatelli with brown sage butter and sausage , keeps us coming back. It's peppered with thick chunks of spicy sausage from famed Faicco's Pork Store. Read more
???????? Cavatelli with hot sausage & browned sage butter
cremini mushroom/truffle oil and ricotta/speck crostinis , escargot salad , and meatballs are the best. I'm sure everything is good though. oh and the mezcal - order it ????????
The sausage , pepper , onion on polenta is fantastic! I recommend it to anyone who enjoys a sophisticated looking, but simple tasting meal. Really good!
Food was really good never tasted pasta so fresh and I recommend the seating in the second part of the restaurant out back very romantic definitely will be back to this spot
Pumpkin ravioli with sage butter sauce and cavatelli pasta are delicious! But the standout was the dessert .... plum something with a marscapone topping. It was like eating Christmas on a spoon.
My favorite restaurant in the neighborhood . Cavatelli pasta is a must. All others are good too! Fennel salad . Beets . Creme brûlée . Sit in the back if it is nice out!
Don't miss the cavatelli dish. Pair it with the octopus or fennel and parsley salad and you have yourself an awesome dinner . If you find yourself here for brunch , go with the BLT or go splitty splitty
Food, sp. meatballs were amazing! I went for a wedding celebration. The staff made sure we always had a drink in hand! Great experience :)
What hasn't changed in a decade-plus is the small but well-conceived menu of shareable salads , handmade pastas , and crusty sandwiches that ask to be split and shared. Read more
Go with a group of people and order all the vegetable antipasti . The octopus salad is also always on point!
Truly a hidden Italian gem in Carroll Gardens . Try the Octopus Salad to start. Duck Lasagna for main. Tiramisu to close out a fantastic meal.
It’s true what everyone says: the cavatelli is where it’s at. Also, get the meatballs .
Consistently delicious Italian in the heart of Carroll Gardens . Brooklyn vibe, cavatelli , meatballs , good wine , garden - can't go wrong.
You can't go wrong with the gnocchi and pasta options! Also try the popular meatballs .
Lots of fun and good Italian food . It’s not a steakhouse but they do a very good slow-roasted rib-eye.
Make a date at the destination eatery for fresh-picked salads , hand-rolled pastas , and a fine dining atmosphere at deliciously casual prices.
Crab boil will run you 80 but unlimited rose and punch, with oysters and crab >>> a fun communal affair complete w shared buckets to toss your shells~~
Best meatballs , yummy gnocchi and overall delicious classic Italian fare . Also, the cutest #adultbrooklyn vibes are here, for the record.
Solid spot! Great drinks. Brussel sprout salad was delicious as was the gnocchi . Loved the vibe of the place too! Definitely returning
Dinner was awesome - the house-made Linguine with breadcrumbs + the creme brulee dessert especially. Super nice garden in the back for nice days, and wasn't too crowded when we got there early on a
The sweet potato ravioli in Parmesan broth was fantastic. As is the orange wine !
They take reservations now, so you can get your cavatelli fix on a regular schedule. Definitely still a menu worth exploring
Everything we tried was amazing. The pasta was great and the service too!

Consistently a lovely dining experience. Skip the peppardelle with lamb and go for the cavatelli . The sandwiches are really nice too! Good service .
Order this exactly: Carafe of the house red wine is good - and cheap ! Robiola and Taleggio cheese as an appetizer . Cavatelli with sausage and sage butter for an entree. mmmmmmmm
Amazing food. Local, seasonal menu that changes often enough to keep neighbors coming back. Don't miss the meatball parmigiana sandwich on Grandaisy Rosemary Bread .
Delectable pastas in a lovely outdoor setting . Most options can be made vegetarian but not all translate as well .
Try tagliatelle al ragú or lamb chops. Everything is amazing here. - Anton Zykin
Loved Popina. Definitely sit in the backyard. We loved everything we ate. Great wine selection too - Meaghan
Really enjoyed dinner here. The food was priced well and the staff was very knowledgeable of the menu. Would highly recommend! - Brent Lawless
