Fort Zachary Taylor State Park Beach

Very rocky. You won't be able to put your umbrella into the sand (But you can rent a set of 2 chairs and 1 umbrella for 30 $). And you should use water shoes . But it's a beautiful beach though.

There’s a hidden beach on the west end of the park , right next to the Navy base fence. This beach is small, has clear water and is almost always empty. Cool little spot to get away from the crowds.

Who said key west didn't have beaches . Well that's what I thought until we found this gem. Awesome beach . Great crystal clear water. Clean beach with a place to eat is a plus.

The beach is very beautiful and yes, rocky. Not worthy to go by walk: long distance walk from entrance. Try to reserve a full day to stay here, they have picnic tables and shower .

Some of the most beautiful water I have ever seen! Around $4 for entry for the entire day. Nice beach , green spaces, tables. Pretty perfect place. Sunset here is stunning

Cute little park with a small rocky beach . Well kept and clean . You have restrooms and food/drinks facilities. If you walk or cycle it’s $2.50 and it’s open till sundown.

Definitely drive of ride a bike - it is a bit of a distance from the entrance to to beach ... the cafe has beer but not allowed in the beach so must consume at the tables there

Easy to get to and it’s cheap to enter the State Park . Beautiful clear water. Bring all your own gear. Chill on weekdays. Too packed on weekends.

Love it! Amazing beach . Parking , chair and umbrella rentals and food spot. Great place for a picnic ir a barbecue . Showers and restrooms also available.

A bit rocky? That's a frickin understatement. Do not expect to be able to go near or in the water without water shoes . Also take advantage of the available umbrella and chair rentals - worth it.

Fun walking around, wish we were there on a day that tours were available. I had a lot of questions that were not answered by the signs. Extremely resonance pricing to get in even for a large group!

Nice beach in front of the pinewood, with a bar and umbrellas&chairs. There are many rocks but there an amazing sight!

Snorkeling at The Point! Awesome. I wonder if there's electric available in the restroom for a hair dryer? My wife will not go to the sunset festival unless she can fix her hair after swimming .

Make sure you shout "fins up!" And hold hands above head in a dorsal fin position as you sprint obnoxiously into the water!! Nah don't do that. Respect the marine life and don't leave anything behind!

After your swim . Sit down and let the water push you back up the beach . (To the right of umbrellas facing horizon) DO A DOWN DOG and you are out! No ouchies on the feet!

Great beach , food available. Great rocks to climb. Spent all day. Short walk to historic Fort.

Nice beach but very rocky, even into the ocean a bit. Cash only grill. Get the personal floats, much better value than chairs and umbrella deal.

Great beach . Bring swim shoes - the coral hurts! Other than that, plenty of room with few people. Great place to see the sunset .

Absolutely gorgeous turquoise-blue water, but the sand is rocky, so come prepared! Jesse, who works at the rentals booth is awesome, gave us so much info on good places to eat in Key West!

Not a very sandy beach ...filled with rocks and pebbles...watch out...but good for swimming once you can navigate past them out into deepr waters

I like Southernmost Beach better. The chairs are $5 cheaper and no rocky sand. Plus you can drink.

Fort Taylor is a most to see, and take a tour very interesting.

Beach gets crowded with lots of tourists but the fort alone is worth the admission fee.

Best public beach on the island , make sure to bring sandals or watershoes bc the shore is really rocky due to the coral.

Best beach to go snorkeling , especially right next to the rocks.

Worst beach for swimming especially with small children. Full of rocks and you definitely need beach shoes . Great if you plan to sit on a lounge chair and not move or go snorkeling :-(

The snorkeling around the big two rock piles is worth hours of relaxing viewing pleasure.

If u want to use card to get chairs and an umbrella, its possible. Just ask personnel.

Best and only swimming beach in Key West!

If you go barefoot it will hurt. No sand just rocks!
