Dive bars are just a must, part of New Orleans in so many ways. This one, steps from Tulane, is perfectly tacky and unfussy. Sip an Abita beer , then walk through Tulane down to St. Charles Avenue.

My favorite dive bar in the whole world. So much bigger than it looks on the outside. The thing to get here is Schlitz in a can.

Legendary dive. Lit only by a few Christmas lights , all the locals agree that no one is ever here for a good reason. Official listed hours are 7pm–7am, and they mean it.

Bright red neon lights assault you when entering, someone's dog ran rampant throughout the bar , the drinks were cheap . Best dive bar , period.

I love this dive. The best part is its close to home. If you get coins tip your dollar and coinage. These people are like family.

I don't know what they do to make it so unique but snakes bloody marys have a one of a kind taste that is different from most other bloodys around the city . Try one they are great!
