Medium sized zoo . It has a bit of everything. Must see tiger, anteater, giraffes , chimpanzees . Perfect for smaller kids to enjoy the animals up close for couple of hours.
Did you know? The Zoo opened in 1927 with a diverse collection of 40 animals, mostly gathered from area parks , including monkeys, raccoons, birds, deer and various other small animals. Read more
Not exactly the biggest zoo but decent size and great way to spend a few hours of the day and see all the cool animals and even some feedings you can do
The perfect place to work up an appetite for our Italian food , after a long day of LIONS and TIGERS and BEARS! Oh, my! -Piatti Sacramento
Don't miss the chimpanzees ! They are the highlight of the Zoo , climbing to the top of their cage , chasing each other around, and grooming each other.
For fun, look for a batman symbol, giant fork, a hummingbird , and duck feet at the zoo . They're all "hidden mickeys" around the zoo .
Awesome place. Our son loved it.
Don't forget to check in. You get a free carousel ticket
Make sure to be here for the Giraffe Encounter. Only $3 to get up close and personal, feed a giraffe .
Nice enough Zoo , for a mid-sized city . The parking leaves a lot to be desired, however. Plan ahead or you'll be walking a long distance.
A nice way to spend time with the family.
take the zoo camp its great the kids have a great time going behind the stage at the zoo :) <3
Ready for a fun day at the zoo !
We just arrived. It's beautiful weather today
The new North American River Otter Habitat is nice :)
The orangutans. Soo cute !!!
Lemurs are awesome!
Cold days/mornings are best to see the hyena and the snow leopards. Trill your tongue to get the kookaburra to laugh.
Everything :-)
Boo at the zoo will be an annual event for me.
Leave a coat for the kids! #news10coats Coats for Kids!
Love to watch the zebras! :)
Loved the zoo today!
Closed Thanksgiving and Christmas .
If you need to change a diaper and find the restroom space awful, use the picnic area near the carousel ... Deserted most of the time.
The "talking" Plain-Colored Amazon is a must see!!!
Get married here, we did!
Come in the morning, the animals are more active.
Look, I grew up going to this zoo so it's sentimental but now that I'm older I can see that the cages and animal areas are way too small and that the animals are probably miserable because of it...
After the zoo head over to Fords Real Hamburgers for a tasty burger
Kids need to be 42in to ride the carousel alone as there are no safety belts.
I'm 5'11" and barely fit on the train ; it was quite uncomfortable.
Avoid the train unless you want to wait in line for a half an hour.
Check out the new Giraffe Exhibit Read more
Don't bother with the train ride... Not worth the time.
