The "breakfast " on the morning BA flights to Manchester are warmed to a temperature just under that at the centre of the Sun and so will strip all the skin off the inside of your mouth on contact.

Roomy check in counters, speedy security & a tidy terminal jam packed with shops & places to snack . Don't fret about getting here too early...gates aren't called until 45 mins"ish" before. ????????????✈️

Jamie Oliver's RESTAURANT does an awesome All Day Breakfast . Get as many stag an hen parties in there as possible to annoy the dysfunctional parents that ignore their screaming kids - Av'it!

Easy to get in and through the security if you have only a hand luggage. Surprisingly, not to busy in the early morning even the South Terminal is still closed

There is now a Comptoir Libanais restaurant in the terminal, best food option if you have a bit of time on your hands and want more than a sandwich . Great mezze platter .

The exit gates, where you meet your long lost family or friends, has a handy Costa opposite! Caffeinate yourself ready for baggage delay and over-excitable squeals of delight when they first appear!

Bring good walking shoes worth you cause you might need to walk a few miles (departing or arriving)!

They moved the smoking area from the second floor. It's SO convenient now, you only have to go back downstairs, exit from the building, find the lift at the end because the ramps only go up, and exit.

If you have someone kind enough to come pick you up at the airport , get them to drive round and meet you at the Drop-Off zone instead of paying for the expensive car parks . No waiting in drop off zone

Efficient well run airport . The more you travel the more you appreciate the standard. To get the best out of the system deploy respect and a smile.

If you arrive after about 2230 in North Terminal all the Car rental places are closed and you have to go to South Terminal to collect vehicle. A nuisance if have wheelchair but the staff will help

Nicest staff ever! So helpful and friendly . Several employees went above and beyond what is normal...and all with a smile! Every other airport in the world should take note...airports CAN be pleasant

Keep an eye on your stuff all the time - guys at the departure security took away my boarding pass from the tray and unconsciously binned it. Amazing.

Getting the train ? Save time buying your tickets at North Terminal right after customs and avoid the epic lines at the station itself. Express & normal (faster ;) train tickets sold.

I long for the days of Easyjet flights from the south terminal . North is a pain to get to, a pain to navigate around, and I takes at least 15 minutes to walk to the gates.

A lot of European flights seem to take off from this terminal. Be sure to get the on floor escalators to get to places slightly quicker.

Unnecessarily long causeway between the main hub and the actual gates. Always be on standby around the time they announce the gate number, you have to run to make it to you gate. Not cool at all.

After you've used your trolley, don't forget to dock your it and take your £1 back. Apparently too many people forget and the money goes to the collectors pockets.

If ur flying via dubai, then do check the duty free alcohol rates there before buying at Gatwick . As it may turn out cheaper & save you the trouble of carry the load half way across your destination!

Jamie's snack van is absolutely fantastic. Tasty and stylish ! Right at the entrance of the terminal, you will notice it!

North terminal- smoking areas have a new locations. for departures floor (2) you have to go outside to the balcony and for arrivals floor (g) - outside left.

Prams and wheelchairs now have their own security channel on far right past the Culpepper bar

The cheapest outlet to buy a neck pillow in North Terminal is the Tie Rack outlet (cheaper than Boots , WH Smith, or Dixons Travel).

Freezing cold air con? Need to charge your phone? There's warmer seats in the far corner of the main lounge (towards gates 45-55 & 101-113) next to the chocolate shop .

Wow this is rough compared to Heathrow or Edinburgh. Small number of restaurants each with a massive queue you probably wouldn’t get through before your flight.

North and south terminal- Remember! no smoking area after passport control (airside) so smoke before you go there. you will not be able to return !

Plenty of places to eat and shop. Try the Jamie Oliver food truck . Free wifi for 45 mins too but you have to register :(

Word to the wise, Gatwick is not in greater London so your Oyster card and pay as you go doesn't work. Be sure to buy a separate ticket before you get on a train to the airport .

"Collect at arrival" service is awesome. Pick up your item, after baggage reclaim, from Left Luggage first floor next to M&S

If you're travelling with Easyjet and arriving by train at the South Terminal , don't forget to take the Shuttle to the North Terminal

There are 2 Boots : a small, crowded bad tempered one immediately after you exit security on the left; or a much larger one, far side of the hall towards gates 100.

Pretty much everything. Easier to navigate opposed to London Heathrow

More compact than South Terminal but just as many shops and cafe/restaurants

A terminal that was badly designed and has aged badly. ✈️????

There is a new Jamie Oliver place with a bakery that does the best bacon sandwiches in the terminal.

Make sure you check-in online, or you may get caught out. Website says 2 bags free, check-in says, 1 and any extra is £50.00!!

The bacon roll and coffee for £4.50 at the milkshake shop is not just edible but actually really nice.

Well if you are saving money this is the terminal. But take the train

Best airport security check - very fast and efficient.

There are mains outlets and USB chargers in a bank of blue chairs next to the Money corp kiosk outside of Harrods.

No mcdonalds or burger king! Burgers are £10 everywhere but EnToast have the best offer - beer an burger for a tenner!

Due to planned improvements, Costa has gone, and so has Nero. Prêt is where Nero used to be upstairs by the toilets . Convenient.

Surely if a customs officer repeats "EU passports this way" 15 times in space of minute it's time to replace them with a sign. #justsaying
