Some fantastic early renaissance paintings and also a strong 19thC British collection. Was impressed with how well looked after it looked. Free admission ...you have no excuse not to visit.
Maps of Bristol show how the incredible city has changed over the centuries. They're arranged in chronological order around the atrium's perimeter. They're definitely worth checking out.
Expansive wildlife collection and fascinating Egyptian section. Everything very informative and fits perfectly into a day trip.

Free to enter and containing hundreds of exhibits , Bristol Museum is well worth a visit. The Banksy exhibition here in 2009 was developed in secrecy and with no PR, but gained worldwide notoriety.
A grand building with an eclectic range of collections. Check out the temporary exhibitions - always something interesting. Plus entry to the museum is free, so you've no reason not to try it!
There is even a compact archaeological museum covering Assyrian and Egyption artefacts.There is an excellent cafe on the ground floor as well as a shop.
One of the few museums to have been awarded designated status by the government - the mark of an outstanding museum !
The variety of exhibits is large, including minerals and fossils, ceramics, glass and silverware, British and world wildlife , etc.
It's free, lots to see including a fantastic art collection . But be warned the cafe is a bit expensive .

They have so much stuff but is quite small. The entrance is free though, and the hall is nice with the plane over there.

The Bristol aircraft company exhibition seems to be a aimed more towards children. Should only take me about 30 minutes.

Free! The Georgian owners made their money to build this house from slavery. Anyway, this is a unique insight into Bristol Georgian life, right down to the furniture and ornaments. - ドーラ
There are large grassed areas perfect for picinics, although there is also a cafe on site, next to the children's playground. - ドーラ

Come early for good weather and chirping birds. Hill is steep so wear good shoes! Great place to walk your dog. This is the view from the entrance to the tower (we didn't get to the top it was closed) - Lee Sydney
