St John's Tavern

The biggest oyster I’ve had in my whole life. Quite good and tasty as well . Impeccable service, friendly , at your disposal, nice fancy atmosphere, good Gironde white wine , and a good mackerel burger .

The pub is very nice but you have to try the restaurant at the back - the wine list is great, the service is exceptional and the food is sensational! A real gem in gastro pub loaded North London.

Excellent food, lovely place but sometimes I find the staff a little offish and it takes over 40 mins per course to arrive.. Still worth a visit

Breaded pollock and chips is delicious, so is the pheasant - avoid the breaded halloumi as it's just huge chunks of cheese with no sauce!

Great food, somewhat busy at times, and can fill up with families, but a pleasant, high end gastropub .

The pickled whelks were my highlight in this evening of great food, wine , service and atmosphere at the restaurant behind the pub .

Reliable, consistent, reasonably priced - St John's is one of the best kept secrets in London. Come hungry!

The mutton pasties at the bar are incredible. Inspired wine list , too.

Try the rump steak : cooked as asked, comes with two different kinds of mustard , horseradish , roast tomato and chips . Very generous portion , too.

Well the Guinness , scotch eggs are good. Like the staff and in general yeah, I recommend it.

We ate in the dining room, what a lovely space. Food was good and the service too!

Head to the back and find the gorgeous, high-ceilinged dining room. The food is great too.

The restaurant at the back has nice posters and artwork. Love that atmosphere!

Great food, one of THE best food pubs around here if not in fact the best, and there is loads of competition. Check it out.

The menu changes daily. Fresh seasonal ingredients . I've never had a bad meal here.

Try the Oysters - They taste absolutely delicious. Add salt, pepper , lemon & shallots/red wine vinegar dressing !

Good food, good beer , just good all-round!

Top notch gastro pub in lovely, emm, Archway. Excellent nosh in both the bar and dining room. Some nice ales on tap too...

The scallops here are brilliantly tasty. Don't bother with the snails though. The portion is too small to leave any kind of an impression.

Best fish & chips I've had in London

Where is the pizza , curry or fish and chips for those of us who don't fancy ox heart ? (really!)

The patatas bravas and the flat bread & humous are not disappointing!
