Lovely pub with an amazing lunch menu , great service but slightly pricey . Haven't had anything on the menu that wasn't great. Look out for the art on the walls n the back garden

An excellent restaurant disguised as an everyday pub . Grab a table out front or in the back on a sunny day and be nice to all the locals' dogs that wander around! They say reservations are recommended

One Man & His Dog

The best gastro pub in North London. If the jerk chicken is on the menu have it. You won't regret it. Heath and his staff demonstrate how pubs can and should be run. Dog friendly . Five stars.

Olive Logie

The food here is incredible. One of the best cheeseburgers I've ever had. Loads of seafood options . Feels like a country pub , but you definitely need to make a booking .

Arnau Bronsoms

I ate a great pork belly roast. The food is higher quality than the usual, you pay for it but it is totally worth it.

Jamie Bunce

The best fish & chips I’ve had in London, possibly the UK. Great food in general and love the frozen margaritas .

Paul Dubois

Bring your dog and book in advance. Gets very busy as it is very popular. On a sunny day, it is best to sit out front. Good food and the occasional celebrity can be spotted. Lovely anytime of day.

Time Out London

You can chance a walk-in if it's on the dot of noon, or on a dry day if you’re happy to eat in the front garden – but mostly you’ll need to book at least six days in advance for Sunday lunch here. Read more

Try the Salt beef and cheddar cheese hash , poached egg , parsley sauce. I can't recommend you try this passionately enough. It's an absolute winner!

The jerk chicken and rice and peas is good. Huge portion .

Tom Rudolph

Amazing food, great service and really cozy yet luxurious setting. Will definitely be back!

Time Out London

This historic Highgate hostelry is ambitious when it comes to alfresco drinking and dining – and able to be flexible, with an intimate , secluded courtyard at the back and a larger area at the front. Read more

Much more towards the gastro end of the gastropub scale. A good place if you like socialising with wealthy Americans.

Amazing roasted tomato soup !

The pan-fried steak is unreal. Cooked perfectly and only a tenner! Highly recommended.

Cosy and festooned with hops, brews its own beer and has some hard to find bottles at not-ridiculous prices. Locally microdistilled spirits. Laid-back, friendly staff. Wine & food looks great. - Sam M
