What's good here? Everything. An incredible collection of new & old, juxtaposed in provocative ways to get your brain racing, heart pumping and sometimes blood boiling. I enjoyed this place immensely.
Outside tour of village and outdoor totem poles ! We loved the museum and the tour guides- we took 3 free tours (30 min)in 3 hours- the textiles tour , the general museum tour , and the outside tour .
Interesting museum , and a great spot to escape the rain - although it's a shame the roof leaks in places. No bags or umbrellas are allowed into the museum itself. The cafe gets bad reviews.
Try to get there in time for three free guided tour . Very informative. You could spend a very long time here without seeing and understanding as much as you learn in one hour
If you can, time your visit for a guided tour - free and the best introduction to the collections
Come on tuesdays after 5pm for cheaper admission. Guided tour is excellent and starts at 6pm. There is a community bus from the UBC bus loop. If you do walk, head north.
No backpacks allowed inside, if you bring one you need to use the lockers that require a Loonie.
Wow, one of the nicest museums . Ubc staff and students get in free. No backpacks allowed so bring a quarter for a locker.
Interesting Museum , situated beautifully on the UBC campus . It was smaller than I expected it to be, though. Tuesdays 5-9pm only $9, which is good!:)
Great exhibits . Enjoyed the Multiversity Galleries the most.
Make sure and go outside and around the back of the museum to check out even more totem poles .
Could spend years working through the permanent collection - drawer after drawer of artifacts - but the special shows are the shit.
Re-opened in summer 2024 after being closed for repairs. Absolutely spectacular collection
Impressive exhibits of Salish Culture.
Try to catch a free tour of the outside exhibit
Free wifi for you! (ID : ubcvisitor)
The Museum of Anthropology at UBC was fantastic, be ready to enjoy a nice stroll across the campus - Veronuica (USA)

Galleries of First Nation art are very good and interesting
Free for UBC staff ! Why am I not here more often?
40min by bus and $18 entrance not worthy ???? the museum is really small
Check out the back of the building for some choice examples of rocks from around the world. - Jon B
Check out the interactive exhibit at the end of the stacks. It changes! - Manil
Excellent little gallery specializes in contemporary and often quite challenging pieces. Traveling shows plus chin-stroking exhibits from a permanent collection of Canadian avant-garde works. - Nico Pitney
Best warm weather reading spot on campus. Consistently peaceful. - Jon B
Been here a couple times; it's so close to campus! A popular location for friends to get together and sit around a bonfire. Definitely a social atmosphere. Also happens to be clothing-optional. - Katie Olfert
It's nice, but quite often too busy to truly enjoy. Good viewpoint across to the N/Shore Mtns. - Jerry
