Lovely cinema , both in atmosphere and architecture in the screens. The bar was refurbished in recent years and is great - filled with armchairs to chill out pre (or post) film .
Keep an eye out for member previews, lots of interesting independent fare and stuff from intriguing directors will pop up in those sorts of screenings.
The history of this little art cinema dates back as far as 1914. Cameo has almost all of its original decor intact, and the Edwardian splendour gives the place a special character. Read more
Very nice picture house cinema . Screen one is huge and very comfortable with reclinable seats and quite a good space between them. You should definitely get a membership .
A cinema for film lovers. So welcoming with the most interesting and varied collections of screenings around. Always my first choice cinema , incredible atmosphere.
Such a fun and brilliant little treasure in the heart of the city ,a must to enjoy films with character
Membership is something of a steal - if you intend to be here more than 3/4 times in a year. You can use it at all other Picturehouse cinemas as well .
Probably the best cinema in Edinburgh . Getting a membership if you live close is a good idea as you get free double bills on sundays and previews etc.
You can drink your pint in the cinema ! Isn't it awesome? Also, the seats were very comfy
Great reclining seats , cheaper than big cinema chains, amazing cookies !
my first stop when any new feature (from blockbuster to a random foreign delight) starts playing is Screen 1 at the Cameo Cinema . get there a little early, stop by the bar and grab a pint. stick aroun Read more

Lovely cute indie cinema checkout for double bills on weekends
Such a beautiful cinema in Screen 1. A Picturehouse venue if you're a member, meaning discounted tickets.
Wasn't quite what expected. No reclining seats and stifling hot. I wouldn't go in summer if you find it too warm. Bar was nice and screen/sound were good though.
Amazing atmosphere :) lovely cinema
The best cinema in Edinburgh !
They don't make movie houses like this anymore. A must visit.
What isn't good here? That's the real question.
Friendly , laid back and comfortable
My favorite cinema in Edinburgh
They do pint of sausage rolls here :-)
Screen 1 is *very* nice, worth making an effort to see films in there.
Still haven't managed to visit screen #1. Convinced that it doesn't exist.
featured in the movie "The Illusionist" by same guys who did "triplets of Bellevue"

Smaller screens than most cinemas, but they make it much darker, so adds to the atmosphere. - Simon Lant
Lovely boutique cinema with super comfy sofas. It's expensive at £11 each but as I rarely go to the cinema, here I do it in style - Wendy Cartwright
Imax had amazing sound quality! very comfortable cinema indeed. ???? - Emm
a brewery in the city centre, really nice, set on two levels. Good food... Hot dogs!! Dogs are welcome. - Pietro
Nice and spacious, great whisky selection. The staff are friendly… friendlier than the average for the kind of business, which makes visiting quite pleasant. Great back room, too. - Cintain 昆遊龍
Really nice vegetarian chickpea curry and naan bread. Great selection of beers, gin and lemonade. - Pepper
