Beautiful, historic pub in New Town . The haggis is excellent. Great selection of whiskeys . Arrive early on the weekends to grab a table. Much better atmosphere in the pub than the restaurant side.

By far the best bar we've been in Edinburgh. Great drinks including real ale and wine plus the food is extremely good and reasonably priced.

Jeffrey Ferguson

Beautiful bar . Friendly and professional bar staff . Usually full of well to do Edinburgh types called Crawford and Alastair. Great range of beers and ales .

cosmicsupervoid

In three days I came here twice because of this, today's lobster was a bit smaller, but so tasty I cannot complain ????

Great atmosphere and friendly staff .

I found this place too pricey for the quality delivered. The oysters weren't alive, the aged Angus steak was dry, and the lobster just average.

Jo N

Good service and good food as well I had the oysters !

Iain Macleod

The tiles all reflect inventors at their moment of discovery. The mirrored bar - isn't! It's an optical illusion.

Tam Carr

An iconic Edinburgh bar .
