Beautiful, historic pub in New Town . The haggis is excellent. Great selection of whiskeys . Arrive early on the weekends to grab a table. Much better atmosphere in the pub than the restaurant side.
I certainly loved this place because I had the seafood platter , it's amazing!!!if you're a seafood lover, don't miss it!!!
By far the best bar we've been in Edinburgh. Great drinks including real ale and wine plus the food is extremely good and reasonably priced.

In three days I came here twice because of this, today's lobster was a bit smaller, but so tasty I cannot complain ????
Fish&chips,duck leg and matured sirloin steak were very good,duck was the best meal u can try it..

I found this place too pricey for the quality delivered. The oysters weren't alive, the aged Angus steak was dry, and the lobster just average.
Good service and good food as well I had the oysters !
The tiles all reflect inventors at their moment of discovery. The mirrored bar - isn't! It's an optical illusion.

Top Real Ale bar. Many of Edinburgh's brewers drink here, so that's a good recommendation. Usually have an excellent range of Scottish Ales. - John Malone
