Cracking quality bar with great choice of draught beer ! Good service ! An Edinburgh institution without the snobbery!
Covid's spoilt this excellent place No more standing at the bar . During busy periods and when amateur drinkers are out and about in the run up to Xmas its difficult to get a table without booking .
Great pub need to get in early for a seat as gets packed
Great beer selection , friendly staff , fantastically ornate gin palace style pub with a nice atmosphere.
Excellent selection of cask ales and kegs , in a gorgeous setting.

Convenient for a quick pint before catching a train at Waverley
Very nice lively place .
Real ales , great food, beautiful decor
Looks like they're resting on their laurels a little. Has got a bit dirty and doesn't have much of an atmosphere or many rare craft ales anymore.
Great selection of beer .
Excellent Real Ale selection

Fish chowder is awesome!
I love this place but its freezing in here!
Yard of Ale during Fringe!
Nothing like Guildford but the staff do have arms, which proves useful for pulling pints, glass collection and so on. Not that amputees wouldn't also be welcome.
£2.90 for glass of prosseco - bargain!
For the best Scottish ale drink here and not next door
Try for the wee hidie hole behind the door
Super schönes viktorianisches Pub. Wenn man in Edingburgh ist, ein Must See !
