Take the Deep Cut loop walking trail to the left. You'll enter a field with 4 cannons. Looking back you can see the parking lot . Imagine Porter 's men charging across the open, under fire.
From the parking lot , all the trail south along the fenceline to get to the tour trail . This trail is well worth the walk.
Porter 's Federal Division marches across this 2000' open ground against Jackson's troops on the high ground beyond during 2d Battle of Manassas.
