Initial Federal line deploys where the cannon are today, facing Evans Brigade where the first fence line is. Between the two fences was a cornfield, about shoulder height at the time.
Initial phases of the battle start here as Union divisions head south and make contact w/ 4th Alabama (sign, near foreground). Fighting later reaches Henry Hill (house in background).
